  1. I'm suprised tonight's meeting hasn't been called off. The forecast for today is awful. Watching the GP on the box is looking more likely for me.
  2. Too right. It was bloody freezing at Rye last Saturday.
  3. Far too risky with the weather as it is. I can see Eastie running a double header at some point.
  4. I agree. I would never miss live sport to stay at home and watch TV, but there are plenty that think otherwise.
  5. With the final GP live on the box and a dodgy weather forecast, it's gonna be a poor crowd if it is on.
  6. Rye is like riding on concrete, I wouldn't be suprised if they didn't last a meeting on that track.
  7. Thanks for the information. I just hope that this Saturday's unsettled weather forecast doesent lead to another double header!!!
  8. It was a strange one at Kent last night, a Mildenhall rider was treated for an electric shock from his bike. Luckily he was ok, and the fifteen heats were just about squeezed in.
  9. That's no justification for pulling the plug. If the admission price was £34, the stadium would have been empty.
  10. Well I was there on saturday, and I don't like being short changed for something I have paid for. Speedway fans are taken for mugs on a regular basis by the promoters. If Rye House had received complaints from the neighbours, then a simple statement on their website would have helped explain the situation.
  11. The second match was in the KOC, and lakeside were already eliminated after heat 13. There is no question from me regarding underhand tactics, just the validity of an unknown curfew.
  12. Start earlier if you can't guarantee to run the meeting, or don't run double headers. I think that only a couple were ever staged at Arena Essex on an evening. From memory the last one ended close to midnight!
  13. Sounds like a very stressful day for all concerned. I was prepared to do both meetings yesterday, but the events at Rye the night before, made the decision for me.
  14. Exactly, I've been going to Rye since 1972 and have never heard of a curfew. If it is a new legal requirement, the meeting should have started at 6pm.
  15. After last night's farce at Rye, I'm glad I gave this a miss today.
  16. I've been to double headers at Rye that finished around the 11pm Mark during the Len Silver era. Not all of Them started at 6pm on Saturdays.
  17. Why was the 10.30 'curfew' not in place two weeks ago. As for the track preparation, it has not changed in the best part of three seasons, regardless of who's been running the show at Rye.
  18. The start time at Leicester should never have been changed in the first place.
  19. I can't see it paying its way. Rye have no fan base and lakeside supporters won't travel in sufficient numbers.
