  1. Sounds like a very stressful day for all concerned. I was prepared to do both meetings yesterday, but the events at Rye the night before, made the decision for me.
  2. Exactly, I've been going to Rye since 1972 and have never heard of a curfew. If it is a new legal requirement, the meeting should have started at 6pm.
  3. After last night's farce at Rye, I'm glad I gave this a miss today.
  4. I've been to double headers at Rye that finished around the 11pm Mark during the Len Silver era. Not all of Them started at 6pm on Saturdays.
  5. Why was the 10.30 'curfew' not in place two weeks ago. As for the track preparation, it has not changed in the best part of three seasons, regardless of who's been running the show at Rye.
  6. The start time at Leicester should never have been changed in the first place.
  7. I can't see it paying its way. Rye have no fan base and lakeside supporters won't travel in sufficient numbers.
  8. Rye has been awful for a couple of years now, since the track was altered when Len left. I'd be suprised if the Lakeside promotion ran there next season.
  9. I still feel very bitter about last night's events. I feel a precedent has been set to abandon a meeting if a result has been achieved. I just feel like speedway has hit a new low for me, if that was possible.
  10. A scandalous decision to pull the plug tonight with the riders on their way to the tapes for heat 14. Us mugs that handed over 25 notes, were shafted by an imaginary curfew that didn't exist two weeks ago. I can't see anyway the sport can survive with the clowns that run it.
  11. Even if the second and third tier meet in the middle, it's still going to mean a big financial outlay for the NL clubs. I'll believe it when I see it.
  12. He's hot around Arlington Sid, but not so consistent away. He's still learning his trade though.
  13. That's what happens when you become part of the establishment.
  14. They tried all that five years ago, but it never closed. Conning the public again would be a disaster.
  15. If I was a gambling man, I'd say that the shabby will remain in its present state for another year or so, until the bulldozers move in. I hope I'm wrong and the proposed track works show some progress before Christmas.
  16. Slightly lower won't be enough for the likes of Buxton and Stoke.
  17. Looking more likely only two leagues next season. What happens to those tracks that can't afford the step up.
  18. The promoters just don't get it. The vast majority of fans just want a well run meeting with minimal delays. Until they grasp this, the public will continue to walk away.
  19. Are you Swindon fans convinced that the stadium revamp is finally gonna happen, or is it more hot air.
  20. Judging by the people I know, I'm gonna be Billy no mates there on Saturday.
