A walk in the park for the Eagles last night. The crowd was poor, but that was to be expected. Mildenhall have gone off the boil at the wrong time of the season, and injuries are starting to take their toll. It would be an injustice if Eastbourne won the league, but those are the rules of the game.
You do get a facility for grasstrack if it is an ACU event. Peterborough got one for Chris Harris last year when he rode in the British masters. They used R/R against Workington, whilst Harris rode at folkestone.
It's the wimborne whoppa grass track meeting on sunday, which is probably the reason Eastbourne are starting at 19.30. This might have an impact on Peterborough finding suitable guests.
Who knows, like i say, i have Eastbourne as a back up. I just can't believe a so called professional sport carries on like this, when fans are leaving in their droves.
Wembley was never a great track, far too narrow for my liking. The sense of occasion made up for it. As a kid, i loved going there for league matches in the 1970's. March of the gladiators at parade time, David Hamilton on the mic and big crowds. The quality of racing didn't seem to matter much back then.
