  1. He ran two poor lasts, made two decent gates and got passed by Bomber in heat 15.
  2. If next season remains the same as this, more track closures will be inevitable. Maybe the survival of the fittest, is the master plan.
  3. I would expect the second tier to be a cross between the championship and the NDL. The poorer relations to move 'down'.
  4. If there is only 2 leagues next season, surely Poole would have to move up as well.
  5. I don't even follow the updates. I've got no interest in it at all.
  6. With the clowns running the sport, nothing would suprise me.
  7. So does that mean more of the same next season. A too strong middle tier leading to more track closures.
  8. I never liked Hackney Kestrels either!
  9. I saw photos of speedway bikes down there the other week.
  10. I went there four times. It was an unbelievable location for a speedway stadium. The track was small with a big home advantage.
  11. Fingers crossed that it comes off. Cowley was one of my regular haunts right up until 2007. We are desperate for another track in the south.
  12. I saw a decent meeting at Kent this afternoon, but only managed about 10 heats of Wolves v Belle Vue before dozing off. It was pretty tame stuff.
  13. Very sad news. Roy was part of the furniture at Arlington.
  14. A very good meeting today. Some decent racing and well run. Totally different to last Tuesday, thankfully.
  15. That's the stumbling block for any prospective promoter, 45k lay out before they start. I don't want to be pessimistic, but i fear for any Eagles revival.
  16. I would have been, if the Eagles were still running.
  17. I was at Plough lane the night Hull never turned up. I saw Wimbledon ride twice at the Boulevard. 1980 and Royal wedding day 1981. I caught the train for the first one and went on the supporters club coach for the 2nd!
  18. Crayford first closed as the Highwaymen at the end of 1970. They reopened as the Kestrels in 1975 and lasted until 1983 when the stadium was sold for redevelopment. The stadium was not demolished until early 1985. The team moved en bloc to Hackney in 1984.
  19. I was tempted to go today, but with Brum due at Kent tomorrow i gave it a miss. The ongoing track issues at Poole definitely influenced my decision.
