Wembley was never a great track, far too narrow for my liking. The sense of occasion made up for it. As a kid, i loved going there for league matches in the 1970's. March of the gladiators at parade time, David Hamilton on the mic and big crowds. The quality of racing didn't seem to matter much back then.
Sooner or later, someone in authority need to order clubs to rearrange meetings as quickly as possible, there is a similar scenario happening with the Coventry v Eastbourne fixture scheduled for the same day.
Apparently Eastbourne haven't agreed to go to Leicester next sunday, and still hope to stage their leg of the play off final the previous night, if they qualify!
Eastbourne still have outstanding away matches at Buxton and stoke still to race, as well as at home to Mildenhall. If they ride at Leicester on the 21st, then it's hard to see how the league fixtures will be completed.
I was told it was the only available date at Arlington last night. The 28th is reserved for the play off final, with the 27th unavailable due to stock cars.
