I preferred the track durings Lens era, it does seem narrower now, and a lot slicker. On the plus side, the safety fence and air bags are a big improvement on the previous set up.

There is a fair few of us that travelled from south of the river as well. Some of our group were from surrey and sussex, and we were regulars at Arena.

In a nutshell.

He could end up back at Eastbourne. The likes of Brennan and Wood need to progress, staying in the NL is just treading water.

A sad but expected end for the Hammers. A miracle is needed to find a new site in essex.

Look, if you think the crowds were at those levels, then you have a different opinion to me. There were strong rumours that the club was losing money weeks before the BSPA pulled the plug. I was a big critic of Len Silver during his reign, but Rye was a far better place then.

What Rye House fans. Where were they earlier in the season. Why didn't they support their club to stop it going bust. I'm a neutral that attended both venues on a regular basis, and i say it how i see it. Clubs moving into another tracks home rarely succeeds. I hope it works if Lakeside do stay at Rye, but both parties have to up their game big time.

Anyone can stick a few pegs in the ground. It would be nice to have some photographic evidence of the work actually starting. It's the least the Swindon fans deserve.

The eight meetings i attended at Rye earlier this season, were merely the starter leading up to the lakeside main course. That's how I've judged the Hoddesdon experience this year.

I would imagine it would take a lot of money to bring Rye House stadium up to scratch. The car park and spectator facilities need a major revamp, plus the track needs reshaping and relaying. The track lighting is also in need of upgrading. Who is going to foot the bill for all of this. I can't see BMR doing this for a meagre rent from any prospective tennants. Lakeside speedway have a huge decision to make regarding Rye. It might be the only option on the table, i don't envy them.

You can criticise people for being negative, but I attended every competitive Hammers match at Arena and Rye this season. I paid my money, I'm entitled to an opinion. The move to Rye might have been the only option available to the club, but its turned out to be a disaster. Arena Essex might have been considered a dump by a lot of people, but how i miss it now. I shudder to think what the financial implications are for the club since the move.

Fair point.
