  1. I feel your pain. It's bad enough for me travelling from surrey.
  2. Should have run this last night, with today as a stand by date. The weather looks to be turning unsettled next week. Sums the season up really.
  3. If it's off tonight, i suppose it will have to be run on tuesday night. They can't risk waiting until Wednesday, the last day of the season.
  4. Clubs should be fined and deducted points the following season for failing to fufill their fixtures. Speedway has a reputation for allowing promoters to do what they want, regardless of the consequences. Until someone gets a grip, the sport will continue its slide into oblivion.
  5. Gonna be hit and miss weather wise tonight. Let's hope after three rain offs at Rye, the Hammers get lucky staging this one.
  6. After going to Rye House on Wednesday and Mildenhall last night, I'm grateful for a night in. I would have gone tonight, but it's freezing cold, so I'm not bothered. Mildenhall should be heavily fined, but i doubt if they will. It will all be forgotten over the winter.
  7. I thought I'd better start a thread for this meeting tomorrow. I think the Hammers will need at least a 20 point lead to defend at Worky on sunday. I expect it will be a bit closer than that. Hopefully the afternoon showers that are forecast miss Hoddesdon on Saturday.
  8. With Eastbourne v Mildenhall biting the dust today, it seems like an incomplete NL table looks a certainty.
  9. It's not possible to open the gates and charge fans £13 to watch that line up. If it was free entry, they might get away with it.
  10. They certainly seemed sour last night, and there was no mention of not sending a team to Eastie tonight. A disgraceful, unprofessional attitude by the fen tigers. The sport just lurches from one farce to another.
  11. A very big crowd for a thursday night. The queue never seemed to go down until the end of the meeting.
  12. A very professional job by Eastbourne tonight. They never gave Mildenhall a sniff at getting back in the tie. My only disappoinment was missing out on the fish and chips. The queue was far too long for my liking!
  13. I've been to all of the Hammers 'home' meetings at Rye, and apart from the first double header, the crowds have been generally poor. Last friday should be a good barometer. A national final against different opposition, on the traditional race night in good weather, and they still didn't come. I'm sure a lot of fans didn't want to tackle the M25 on a friday evening, who can blame them. So that leaves Saturdays for next season, going up against Kent and Eastbourne most weeks. Some of us attend all three venues, so choices will have to be made.
  14. This non event is now up to 37 pages, because of a blown light bulb. How i wish we'd got to ten heats on sunday.
  15. If you add the cost of sundays farce to tonights admission and travel, it all adds up to a fair few quid for people to find. I'm expecting a poor turn out. The fans goodwill only goes so far.
  16. I'm just glad the season is nearly over. I need a few months off from the sport. No doubt my enthusiasm will return, when the old boys club release their blueprint for next year.
  17. I remember going to Rye House v Peterborough in the cup final, staged at Arena Essex many moons ago. So all this is nothing new.
