  1. It will be interesting to see how many clubs are in the NL next season. Two will be lost to the championship. Coventry look doubtful and Mildenhall are up for sale. It could be the lowest number for a few years.
  2. Until Hackney started to lose money, and they got out sharpish!
  3. Apart from wolves, every other team will be looking to run on thursdays!
  4. All licenced tracks have to have an air fence. It's compulsory.
  5. Three years, I'm suprised by that. Promoters and owners change, plus changes to track and fence etc.
  6. A track licence for 2019 would need to be issued before any prospective promoter took up residence. Easier said than done.
  7. Rye House stadium resembles a building project that has run out of money.
  8. Apart from the monies owed, the state of the stadium is a major concern. Major investment is needed to make it fit to stage public events.
  9. The big issue for me is, I've lost two of my Local tracks, Lakeside and Rye House in the last couple of months. I wished someone with a few bob could have come in and saved both venues.
  10. That says it all really. A shocking indictment of Osbourne and his cohorts. Can the council legally force them to build the new stadium, or can the developers just walk away.
  11. That is good news. Let's hope it's built in time for the start of the 2019 season.
  12. The sport will probably be down to about 20 tracks soon. In these times of austerity and uncertainty, the fan base is going to keep on shrinking, regardless of what the promoters do.
  13. The damage is done. 2018 has already been make or break for some clubs.
  14. It's a shame that those teams committed to top flight racing can't run with the top riders for a year. That way if the fans still don't come, then we know the sport is knackered at the highest level.
  15. If the new owner has deep pockets and is prepared to cover the losses, that's his prerogative. As long as it dosent put the future of the track at risk.
  16. Top flight racing at the showground on a week night is a recipe for disaster. It never worked before, when the sport was in a lot healthier state.
  17. Just because he has a promoters licence doesn't mean that he has the finances to promote. At some tracks it's little more than a job description.
  18. I remember the Lakeside forum getting shut down, because the promoters didn't take too kindly to criticism.
  19. If is a big word. Have any of the present incumbents got the balls to make changes. I'm not holding my breath.
  20. Whatever way you dress it up, the british public think that speedway is poor value for money. The old boys club can't change this, i dont think anyone can. That horse has long since bolted.
  21. With stuart gone, has Jon Cook got the conkers to run at Rye on his own. Hopefully, all will be revealed next week.
  22. Good job there is. The way the sport is going, it could be virtually extinct in five years time.
