  1. The bank holiday afternoon curfew is a new one on me. It has never been enforced prior to this season. The farcical events of two weeks ago stopped me going today, i took up Swindon's offer of £9 admission instead. Far too many meetings at Kent don't go the full distance and fans should be compensated when they don't.
  2. I couldn't make it yesterday due to a clash with football, but as an Arlington regular, i can only recall 2 home defeats in competitive meetings in recent years. One against a Poole team loaded with guests and another v Kent a couple of seasons ago. I make that 2 in six years, so you can't complain!
  3. With multiple track closures in the south east, Eastbourne seemed to have tapped into the market for the floating fans. Lens decision to charge £15 for NL racing at Kent just helps top up the crowd levels at Arlington.
  4. Looking at the forecast for Wednesday, the weather question will be rearing its ugly head all over again!
  5. What a killer. Always the highlight of any trip to Mildenhall. I used to starve myself to make room for it!
  6. I've no doubt fans of King's Lynn and Peterborough say the same. Sheffield is not the only great race track that don't produce the goods anymore.
  7. I'll tell her you said that Marcus!
  8. I hate it when speedway clashes with football. I was planning to go to Eastbourne v Leicester on Sunday, but Arsenal's home match against Brighton has been put back 24 hours. That's the trouble with following two sports.
  9. I have seen dogs at Eastbourne in the past. There used to be a Jack Russell there that wore a small Eagles scarf!
  10. I always stay at the Langham right on Eastbourne sea front. It's a four star hotel, but you get some great deals online. A really nice breakfast is included in the price.
  11. I did fear for the Brummies pre season. Going up a league with a poor team and the added expense. I was there for the Somerset meeting, great racing but a poor crowd. Perry Barr is a fair track that anyone can race on, probably too fair.
  12. Good, it would be nice to see some photos of the track.
  13. I will always gamble if it's local, but i would never travel long distances in dodgy weather.
  14. The closure of Linlthgow put the brakes on that production line.
  15. I much prefer an early call off. It's the tactical ones i can't stand. Hose pipes left on or electrical faults if riders are missing.
  16. After cutting my speedway teeth at Wimbledon, the thing that struck me about West Ham was the sheer size of the place. It was only half a stadium when i first went in 1970. I'd love to have seen it in its original state.
  17. You beat me to it. He was bloody awful!
  18. I was born in Wimbledon and because Plough Lane was the first track i ever went to, i became a Wimbledon fan. West Ham was the first away venue i saw the Dons at, and to this day i still have a soft spot for those happy Hammers!
  19. How right you are. Too wet, too dry or too sunny!
  20. The forecast for the island on thursday seemed to change on an hourly basis. From heavy showers to a dry afternoon and evening. The radar looked promising so i went for it. It turned out to be perfect speedway weather. Sometimes you have to go with your gut instinct!
  21. He did, i was at the meeting. He laid on the track for nearly an hour because the paramedic was reluctant to move him. He came out of the bend and straightened up. It was a nasty incident.
