  1. The adverse camber on turn 2 at Rye House was notorious. Some riders that went over that were never seen again!
  2. Thanks a lot for stating the facts.
  3. I'm not boycotting Kent, far from it. I will be there next monday for the Plymouth match. I went to Swindon yesterday to see the new track, and because it was £6 cheaper. The clincher for me was the new bank holiday curfew that appeared 2 weeks ago. How can noise be an issue in the afternoon. Plenty of holiday meetings in the past have gone well past the 2 hour mark, some nearer 3. I'd like to know the reasons why the council have now imposed this.
  4. I've attended well over 70 meetings at kent, so I'm a paying customer and entitled to an opinion. Why during the enforced breaks isn't the track graded and watered. Surely this would benefit the younger riders to have a consistant surface to race on. You only have to listen to the sarcastic cheers in the main stand every time the tractor makes a rare appearance. With so few venues in the South East, it's not so easy to take it or leave it.
  5. Old Lennie don't listen to anyone. They are still using carrier pigeons down his neck of the woods.
  6. 2 hours is not enough for young riders to learn their trade. There are always going to be crashes and mishaps. I can't relax and enjoy the meeting with the curfew hanging over me. A second ambulance would reduce some of the delays and should be looked at by the management. You have to give the punters what they have paid for. You wouldn't go for a three course meal and miss out on the dessert!
  7. Absolutely. I've been a regular at Central Park since the track opened, but the crashes and delays are wearing me down. As i get older, i get less tolerant to all this nonsense.
  8. Like you say, any team that hits the 40 point mark at Eastie have done very well.
  9. It was a poor meeting racing wise, but the new track will need time to settle. It certainly wasn't worth more than the £9 i paid to watch it.
  10. I've been once, he looked ok. I've seen him ride for Somerset a couple of times as well. A big step up for the lad.
  11. I agree Sid not the best of meetings, i can't grumble though for £9. The track wasn't brilliant, too dry. It's early days and will need time to settle down.
  12. The bank holiday afternoon curfew is a new one on me. It has never been enforced prior to this season. The farcical events of two weeks ago stopped me going today, i took up Swindon's offer of £9 admission instead. Far too many meetings at Kent don't go the full distance and fans should be compensated when they don't.
  13. I couldn't make it yesterday due to a clash with football, but as an Arlington regular, i can only recall 2 home defeats in competitive meetings in recent years. One against a Poole team loaded with guests and another v Kent a couple of seasons ago. I make that 2 in six years, so you can't complain!
  14. With multiple track closures in the south east, Eastbourne seemed to have tapped into the market for the floating fans. Lens decision to charge £15 for NL racing at Kent just helps top up the crowd levels at Arlington.
  15. Looking at the forecast for Wednesday, the weather question will be rearing its ugly head all over again!
  16. What a killer. Always the highlight of any trip to Mildenhall. I used to starve myself to make room for it!
  17. I've no doubt fans of King's Lynn and Peterborough say the same. Sheffield is not the only great race track that don't produce the goods anymore.
  18. I'll tell her you said that Marcus!
  19. I hate it when speedway clashes with football. I was planning to go to Eastbourne v Leicester on Sunday, but Arsenal's home match against Brighton has been put back 24 hours. That's the trouble with following two sports.
  20. I have seen dogs at Eastbourne in the past. There used to be a Jack Russell there that wore a small Eagles scarf!
  21. I always stay at the Langham right on Eastbourne sea front. It's a four star hotel, but you get some great deals online. A really nice breakfast is included in the price.
  22. I did fear for the Brummies pre season. Going up a league with a poor team and the added expense. I was there for the Somerset meeting, great racing but a poor crowd. Perry Barr is a fair track that anyone can race on, probably too fair.
