  1. The dynamic duo would have wet themselves if it had been on TV.
  2. Historically Peterborough have never had good crowds on a midweek race night, so yesterday wasn't too bad. Everyone wants more, it's just human nature!
  3. I remember Chris Harris getting excluded twice at Lakeside a few years ago. He ended up going back 30 metres!
  4. The problem is, the average age of the speedway fan will dictate if the stand remains open. A seat is the minimum requirement for the majority.
  5. If i lived in the frozen north I'd be there every meeting, instead i had to content myself with a humdinger of a match at the East of England Showground. The sacrifices i make!
  6. It looked a decent crowd for a thursday night. A fabulous meeting tonight. Well run, hard fought with some fantastic racing. It shows what can be done when all the ingredients come together, speedway at its best!
  7. From the euphoria of last season to the misery of this. What a devastating end for the Comets and their fans.
  8. Reminded me of Phil Crump at Somerton Park Newport, with his back wheel on the fence for most of the race!
  9. Eastbourne's crowd was well down last saturday. Attendances are usualy good at the start of the season, maintaining those levels is the hard part.
  10. I still think that running NL speedway at Rye on a sunday afternoon could be viable, but professional racing would be a massive gamble in the sports current climate.
  11. For me personally, because Kent is one of my regular tracks. I don't mind them running the odd filler meeting. I tend to give these a miss, so it gives me a break from attending every week. Two a month would be fine by me, because i visit plenty of other tracks. If kent is your only option, then i can understand why weekly speedway works at Central Park.
  12. If that's the case, no wonder BMR don't want regular speedway back at Rye. Prehaps it's the way forward for other loss making venues.
  13. Surely 'if' the kart people now own the stadium, they'd be better off staging regular speedway meetings rather than sporadic flat track events that attract one man and his dog. It all seems like smoke and mirrors to me.
  14. I was fortunate to have seen Ronnie ride on a weekly basis at Plough Lane, plus a few Dons aways from 1969 -72. He was a supreme stylist and a brilliant team rider. He is without a doubt, one of my favourite riders of all time.
  15. He did finish the season at Lakeside carrying an injury. He probably needs a few more meetings under his belt.
  16. Just a couple of minor observations. Wallinger's performance for Mildenhall against kent on sunday was by far the best I've seen him ride, very stylish on a tough track. I was very impressed with Spencer when i saw him on the island a couple of weeks ago. He looks to have real potential.
  17. Very true Shads. The first 10 tracks i visited in order of attendance were Wimbledon, Plymouth, West Ham, Wembley, Romford, Hackney, Reading, Rayleigh, Rye House & Eastbourne. The fact that two still remain intact is an achievement in itself.
  18. After the Tom B accident and the hours delay, i guess the riders and the fans just wanted to go home. I know i felt that way. The crash knocked the stuffing out of everyone.
  19. If that's the case why are BMR planning to run a flat track series there. The whole thing seems to be a spiders web of various companies.
