Eastbourne v Glasgow Semi Final

Is that the same track staff member that Craig Cook rode his bike into and then attempted to head butt. Certain people representing Glasgow speedway acted disgracefully tonight and brought the sport into disrepute. Eastbourne are not blameless in all of this, club officials making juvenile comments on the mic to provoke the opposition was very unprofessional. A stronger more senior referee would have been able to handle the situation better, instead of letting it get out of hand. -

Kent kings are right up there with them. Uncle Len still runs speedway every week. -
It's called lunch down here in the south.

Bruce Penhall did it before a 1980's test match at Wimborne Road, why not JCF!!! -
Mine too Arnie.

It was announced they'd been on the phone since monday morning, but couldn't find anyone willing or able to ride. No one loses a home match on purpose. Some promoters would have conveniently left a hose pipe on, or said there was emergency electrical work going on in the area.

As a neutral, i still enjoyed it. With so few options now in the south east, beggars can't be choosers.

Five riders. R/R for Spooner and no one at 6 or 8. In fact Leicester finished the match with five as well.

Plenty of free parking at the stadium. My favourite chippy in Eastbourne is Qualisea, which is at the seafront end of the main shopping street.

To be fair the status of the British final isn't what it used to be. As a kid i attended finals at West Ham and Coventry that pulled in crowds of over 20k. The kent fans are a loyal bunch and will still turn up tonight. All the Central park neutrals i know are still going, me included!

I saw him ride frequently for West Ham in 1971. He was decent at Custom House and did a good job for the Hammers in a difficult season.

Next season!

King's Lynn vs Peterborough. Thursday July 25th
cityrebel replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The british public don't want to go to speedway anymore. Cheaper admission would only be a short term fix. Once all of us old fogies have died off, its days as a professional sport will be over. -

I'll have to add Kent to your list. Despite battling against the dreaded curfew every week, they still get excellent crowds for NL racing. They must be one of the few tracks making money out of the sport. -

We just need the predicted band of rain to move East a little. To get a call off after a fortnights break would be typical. -

They are deluded that's why. They really beleive in the show they put on, and that they offer good value for money. The penny will finally drop when the stadiums are empty. -
To be fair its been frittering out since the season started. An initial weak line up, leading to multiple team changes brought on by injurys and averages. Coming to tapes next season will be the Brummies biggest achievement.

What they really hate is, the truth.
