  1. This season has been a success for Eastie. Staying in the NL would have been a backward step. The sooner Kent move up the better.
  2. I didn't realise the number was as low as 23. You just take it for granted that a couple will fall by the wayside at the end of most seasons.
  3. Fair play to the Mason's for 'carrying on', they must have deep pockets. The crowd on a lovely sunny afternoon, looked poor again. Even the food outlet was closed by the interval.
  4. Is anyone really suprised. The old boys club make it up as they go along. No wonder the fans are leaving in their droves.
  5. A cup that will be consigned to the history books, with any luck.
  6. I've lost 20 tracks within a 70 mile radius of my south east base since i first started going. Romford was the first to go in 1971. Luckily Eastbourne, Kent and the IOW seem to be in reasonably good health.
  7. Very true. If the public don't want it, you can't force them to go.
  8. They'll be denied by the hockey pitch on the infield. Even the bikes are not allowed anywhere near it.
  9. Especially in this age of creature comforts and strict health and safety guidelines.
  10. Speedway, stock car and greyhound racing are all cloth cap sports in the decline. As the crowds fall and the revenue shrinks, more stadiums will become vulnerable to the developers.
  11. Maybe there could be a revival at Buxton.
  12. The sport is run for the benefit of the riders, not the fans. What we want does not matter, we are just an irritant to the promoters. In the end there will be no fans left, just empty stadiums.
  13. Don't forget Lakeside and Rye from my neck of the woods.
  14. I'm glad i went this season. I thought the old place looked quite decent for a change.
  15. The crowds seemed decent on sunday afternoons last year.
  16. In the short term, finding someone to subsidise the running of the sport in Peterborough could be more pressing than the future of the Showground.
  17. As an Arlington regular, I'm always optimistic regarding weather forecasts. I've got away with it so many times over the years, i just take it for granted.
