It's not just Cardiff. Speedway generally comes across as crap on TV. Last weeks meeting at Poole being a prime example. You can never recreate the atmosphere of being in a Stadium, sitting on the sofa!

That's a very good point. It's about 50/50 of the people i know go. You either love it or leave it. I tend to be in the latter group, although i wouldn't rule out going again if the circumstances were right.

I've been to 14 GP's since they started in 1995. 10 at Cardiff, 2 at Hackney and 1 at both Bradford and Coventry. With the exception of Odsal, they have all been staged on poor tracks. It would take the NSS to tempt me to go again, but the finances make that highly unlikely.

How some tracks survive with such a small fan base is a miracle in itself. I was at Peterborough on Tuesday for a top flight meeting that attracted a sparse crowd. These are difficult times for the sport.
