  1. It's not just Cardiff. Speedway generally comes across as crap on TV. Last weeks meeting at Poole being a prime example. You can never recreate the atmosphere of being in a Stadium, sitting on the sofa!
  2. A lot of the touts end up with sponsors freebies, which they probably pay peanuts for.
  3. That's a very good point. It's about 50/50 of the people i know go. You either love it or leave it. I tend to be in the latter group, although i wouldn't rule out going again if the circumstances were right.
  4. I've been to 14 GP's since they started in 1995. 10 at Cardiff, 2 at Hackney and 1 at both Bradford and Coventry. With the exception of Odsal, they have all been staged on poor tracks. It would take the NSS to tempt me to go again, but the finances make that highly unlikely.
  5. I'm glad i saved my money. To be honest i lost a lot of interest in the GP's when Crump, Gollob & Rickardsson retired.
  6. I make it six. Redcar, Cradley, Stoke and three possible Finals!
  7. Possibly, I'm out of touch with it all. I'm only interested in domestic speedway.
  8. Moving up can also mean losing the clubs traditional race night. It was financial suicide for the likes of Rye House.
  9. It's all pie in the sky through isn't it. Who's going to finance the building of a new stadium for 500 people. The same thing was said by John Davis at the last ever meeting at Reading back in 2008.
  10. Yes i was. It was my second visit to the newly shaped Abbey track, and both times it hasn't produced much decent racing. Prehaps my expectations were too high to start with.
  11. Poor meeting tonight on a dusty track. A big pre Cardiff crowd must have swelled the coffers for the tangerine dream team.
  12. It was used for the british under 15 championship at the infamous 'last ever' meeting at the Abbey. It was the only reason i went!
  13. How some tracks survive with such a small fan base is a miracle in itself. I was at Peterborough on Tuesday for a top flight meeting that attracted a sparse crowd. These are difficult times for the sport.
  14. I was also at Rye that day. I was due to go to Bradford, but had trouble with the trains.
