  1. Len is very lucky to have Iwade on his doorstep to ease any potential fixture congestion. Kent ran two SDL meetings there in 2018.
  2. Old Lennie charges £15 for NL at Kent. A fiver more than the NSS!
  3. Especially if both teams have decent runs in all the competitions.
  4. Not sure, i've only been there once, for the British youth championship a few years ago.
  5. Who would go to Northside with its limited facilities. When NL racing was staged at Iwade, no one went. Yet a couple of miles down the road, they turn up in their droves to watch the same level at Central Park.
  6. Speedway Stop press, i remember it well. My dad used to buy them at West Ham and i used to colour in your illustrations. I have a full set of these fanzines from 1969 to 1972, minus my artwork. There can't be many sets that have survived.
  7. The stadium is council owned, so you won't be getting that for starters.
  8. You couldn't have enjoyed the 'racing' that night. From memory, it was like a sea of mud!
  9. I went to both of the 'last ever' meetings at Wimbledon. The abandoned 4TT in June 1991 and the Laurels in October 2005. I did take some photos on the second occasion, but unfortunately they've got lost in the mists of time.
  10. Wasn't it announced at the after meeting press conference on monday. I didn't hang around for it, with a 4.30am alarm call waiting for me in the morning.
  11. Two laps Tommy Allen must be nailed on for a team place.
  12. Excellent meeting tonight, with multiple passes in virtually every race. Superb value for a tenner.
  13. With a worryingly shrinking NL, would there be enough teams to substain a full fixture list at Rye. Time will tell.
  14. 400 - 500. I'd be flabbergasted if they got that many. As for Rye reopening, I'll beleive it when i see it.
  15. They couldn't do no worse than BMR.
  16. Rye House, complete with camber, staged several FIM events, including the under 21 world cup final. The FIM it seems, ain't that fussy.
  17. Typical Len, not the first time it's happened this season.
  18. Looking dry for monday, at the moment...
  19. Newport would have been an ideal venue. They used to stage the Welsh open the day after the GP.
  20. I'm a neutral that has attended the last four meetings at BP. The track has been on the slick side for all of them. How it's possible to doctor the track in such wet conditions is beyond me. They did well to get it on last saturday.
  21. The track was doctored by the wet stuff falling out of the sky.
