  1. Hard to see how it can flourish this year. Maybe the stand alone clubs could run a few open meetings, until things are back to normal.
  2. Absolutely. I'm seriously considering cutting down and it hasn't even started yet!
  3. £20 seems about right. Without younger blood, the sport won't survive.
  4. Making it affordable for families to attend, would be a start.
  5. This one is the worst. When the first one ended, i had non league football and a few speedway meetings to go to. The second one was short and football continued. This time it's going to be much longer. Despite my second jab being due in April, I'm still not hopeful of a May start.
  6. Different rules in Scotland might have an impact as well.
  7. Kent's traditional curfew call offs might be harder to stomach at £20 a time. I always felt speedway would be in trouble when the price increased to over a pound a race.
  8. Absolutely. The public will always vote with their feet, if they feel they are not getting value for their money. You will always get a minority of hardcore fans that will cough up regardless. Unfortunately their numbers are falling by the wayside.
  9. I get tested twice a week at my job in a special needs school. We have remained open throughout. Luckily i had my first jab yesterday as part of the process.
  10. If the price keeps going up I'd rather lose it. I'll content myself with a few amateur meetings and some grasstrack.
  11. Multibuy tickets are definitely the way forward. I've still got my unused 10 meeting Eastbourne pass from last season. Hopefully i get the chance to use it this year.
  12. The temporary lay and lift track from 2000, not the permanent brown concrete which followed!
  13. Some of it ended up at Rye House.
  14. It's not just speedway is it. I've certainly tightened my belt during lockdown. Just because i can afford it, doesn't mean i want to spend it. Life will never be the same for any of us.
  15. I agree, i also feel the same way about Premier league football. I'm not sure i could ever pay those prices again on a regular basis.
  16. Fixed race nights have actually contributed to the closure of tracks in this country. How does that benefit speedway. Self interest will wipe out the sport, eventually.
  17. Fingers crossed, but May seems a long way from where we are now.
  18. Not guilty. Falcon 1983 started the thread, i just commented on it. Being a Lakeside and Eastbourne regular, i have seen enough over the years.
  19. I cancelled SKY and BT sports back in the summer. I wasn't prepared to pay to watch games in empty stadiums. I don't regret it one little bit.
  20. If they run Arnie, i am not counting any chickens. It's going to be a slow plod to get us out of this pandemic.
  21. Wether they can afford it is another matter. I lived on a diet of non league football since late August, averaging about £8 a game. I've turned into a right tight wad during lockdown. I'm certainly going to be more choosey when elite sport gets going for fans again.
  22. You and me both mate. My first ever meeting at Custom House.
