  1. The British public doesent think that speedway represents value for money, hence the lack of newbies. Until this changes, the sport is going one way.
  2. It's a great little track, always well prepared. I was a regular there in the conference league days.
  3. Great news for fans in the South East.
  4. I never backed him, he talked a good game. I knew from the Edinburgh meeting that the sums didn't add up. The crowd on a lovely summers evening was 200 down on the previous 2 meetings. It was downhill from then on.
  5. It's just attention seeking at its worst.
  6. You need a thick skin to post on the BSF. If people are sensitive to criticism, don't participate. There is always someone waiting to have a dig. It's water off a ducks back to me.
  7. I'm sure they're having sleepless nights about it!
  8. Because Oxford and Workington will have their own tracks. Cradley last rode at 'home' in 1995. That's why nomadic teams like Reading and Weymouth were stopped from riding in last seasons junior leagues.
  9. The powers that be have banned all 'defunct' clubs from competing in league racing.
  10. When i went to football at Central Park in 1995 there was no Greyhound track. The football club got into financial difficulties and sold the stadium to Roger Cearns. They moved into Bourne Park soon after.
  11. The same lot that are lying in the road stopping ambulances and doctors carry out their duties.
  12. Maidstone have their own new ground and Sittingbourne play in more modest surroundings outside the town centre.
  13. The 'pitch' next door is actually a proper football ground that Sittingbourne and Maisdstone used for several years. I'm not sure anybody plays there now. The idea that Sittingbourne FC could move back to Central Park is one i thought about the the other day. It certainly wouldn't suprise me.
  14. I remember the pair of them walking around the Loomer road track picking up Stock car debris prior to the speedway meeting!
  15. Seems a big target. They could be losing money right from the off.
  16. It never stopped me. I'd go to West Ham speedway on Tuesday evening, kip in the car on the way home and always get up for school the following morning. That was the deal for me being taken to a midweek meeting.
  17. So sod the fans like me that have lost money. What about the sponsors and suppliers that have been ripped off. The riders are not the only losers in this sorry saga.
  18. I've always thought that 'survival of the fittest' is the grand master plan. Look how quickly they picked over the bones of Eastbourne once they folded.
  19. Holly is a really nice bloke. I had a long chat with him at Lydd earlier in the season!
  20. I'd settle for that, but NDL might not pay its way with a potential big rent increase.
  21. I went to every meeting at Arlington and Central park this season. What's happened is unbelievable really.
  22. The original track had short straights and really tight bends. Not for the faint hearted!
