  1. Is this the same track that the likes of olle nygren rode at, or is it a newer venue.
  2. Awful track conditions tonight, reminds me of rye house!
  3. Despite the score, there was some decent racing last night. The heat 14 battle between James Shanes and Luke chessell was one of the best races I've seen at Central Park since the venue opened. The track has also improved with no exsposed chalk base and a decent dirt line around the outside, which the excellent Shanes exploited to the full.
  4. call yourself a rockets fan shads, you should have been up there with him. There was plenty of Room in the padded cell for the two of you!
  5. With the British final and the World Cup on TV, I can see there is absolutely no interest in this meeting. There is not even a review on the kings website. Will the last person that leaves the stadium please turn the lights out!
  6. that could describe any meeting at rye these days!. I enjoyed watching anders Thomsen ride, very impressive.
  7. With glasgow due at the launch pad next saturday as well, as shads said, one for the die hards. Which i will be one of them!
  8. There was a sun break at eastbourne last Saturday. It was the first one I can remember at Arlington in over 40 years of attending meetings at this venue!
  9. Restaging date july 28, weather permitting!!!
  10. one of my mates that turned up there last night was told that the meeting was off because of a 'threat of thunder' which is more or less the reason given on the website.
  11. the thing is mike, the forecast had changed by lunchtime. Surely as a promoter you have to give the meeting every chance of being run. Some of those fans that turned up last night will think twice about making a return visit.
  12. today is the main reason I now go to eastbourne instead of rye most Saturdays. Bob dugard will always do his best to get a meeting on regardless of weather forecasts and line ups, and that Eddie, is good enough for me.
  13. How many times has len pulled the plug on what turned out to be a dry day. No investigations where uncle len is concerned, he is untouchable!
  14. I've had a text saying it's sunny at the stadium and some fans turned up expecting to see a meeting. A couple of my mates had wasted journeys. I always check to see if it's on, even on a dry day!
  15. It's always been the old pals act as far as riders are concerned to uncle Len. This goes as far back as his early promoting days at hackney. He has made a career out of being too loyal to under achieving riders, and is far too old to change his ways now!
  16. The weather looks a bid dodgy tomorrow evening, let's hope the forecast is wrong!
  17. eastbourne, lakeside, kent and rye are the four tracks I visit the most. The crowds are down at all of these venues, some drastically. Personally I don't think speedway can be saved in this country at its present level. Years of neglect and taking its punters for mugs have taken its toll. In my eyes we have already reached the point of no return.
