  1. Maybe the panthers will join the eagles in the NL next season!
  2. After many years in the top flight, it's going to be hard for some eagles fans to adjust to NL racing. It was the same for arena in 1996 when the hammers team relocated to hackney. Going PL would mean far too many meetings to run for uncle bob's liking!
  3. I can't see Saturday night NL racing at Arlington competing with GP speedway on TV. The eagles management would have to be very selective when planning their home fixtures.
  4. i totally agree with you, I hated 2nd halves when I was a kid. I used to watch them at Wimbledon because I lived close to the stadium. The 2nd halves at wembley were pretty special because they used to invite a couple of top riders to compete in them most weeks, that was enough to tempt my old man to stay and watch them.
  5. hi Jon, there have been quite a few of these turn up on ebay over the years. They don't seem to fetch too much money, you just have to be patient, like me!
  6. I honestly don't think the crowds will return to speedway whatever the BSPA do. It's a sport that is past it's sell by date and is being propped up by us old fogies, who are the last generation of speedway fans.
  7. You are a happy soul mike!, you missed a very good meeting at kent tonight.
  8. According to the lakeside forum, BBC radio essex are reporting that the club will have new owners next season.
  9. Apart from the financial issues, I think bob's health is a major factor in all of this.
  10. thursday nights were tried about five years ago, they were a disaster.
  11. Fingers crossed something can be sorted out, but I'm not holding my breath. I can't see any clubs agreeing to stage only eight home league meetings per season.
  12. Only 1000 people turned up at the 'last ever' eagles meeting v king's Lynn, still way below the break even figure. I would have thought that a year in the PL on the traditional Sunday afternoons would be worth a try, but I don't have to pay the bills at Arlington.
  13. So with kent considering their future, eastbourne looking like having no future and all the uncertainty surrounding rye house. These are very bleak times for speedway fans in the south east.
  14. Will Len make a better go of it at rye now that kent's curfew extension has been turned down.
  15. From a selfish point of view I don't mind the 6.30 start time, but for the club to progress it needs PL racing. The sooner, the better.
  16. Your original post had a sad face at the end instead of a smiley.
  17. Romford speedway, I remember it well. Nice stadium, huge crowds and a scary track!
  18. The PLRC should be a compulsory event and those riders not attending should receive a ban.
  19. British speedway really looks beyond help. This season must rank as the worst in the post 1965 BL era. With a new national stadium on the horizon, the sport will be receiving its last rites by the time it is built.
  20. I agree he is a bit of a one track pony, but his win over Adam roynon at the showground on Sunday must rank as one of his best ever rides away from the launch pad.
  21. I'd be surprised to see garrity at rye next year and can you honestly see uncle Len giving Bowen the boot.
