  1. maybe that's the reason his brother now looks the better rider.
  2. Monsoon conditions tonight meant no chance of any racing. I wonder if the kent management realise the first leg of the EL play off final is scheduled for next Friday, weather permitting of course!
  3. Looking at the rainfall radar, the majority of the showers are running north of sittingbourne in lines. Let's hope they stay there!
  4. While your stadium still stands, there is always hope!
  5. I agree with a lot of what you say, but try telling that to the fans of long standing EL clubs. There are none so blind as those who cannot see!.
  6. for a lot of supporters it's top flight racing or nothing. I know this from being a lifelong Wimbledon fan, when we dropped down in 1985 a lot of people stopped going, never to return.
  7. bob dugard owns the stadium and the machinery, but ain't got no shale to store!
  8. back in the good old days mike, eastbourne v Wimbledon was considered a 'local' derby!
  9. I can't see another season of PL working at the showground, regardless of who the promoters are.
  10. Because of the shocking state of the EL the panthers were probably better off in the PL, but they really needed a Friday or weekend race day to stand any chance of making it pay.
  11. This coming Friday sees the hammers visit Central Park for the last meeting of the season. I'm not a great fan of challenge matches, but I will make the effort if it survives this spell of unsettled weather.
  12. If the panthers do fold, maybe the BSPA could stage some big meetings at the showground. It would be a tragedy for speedway to lose such a great venue.
  13. As a neutral with no axe to grind, I thought coventry prepared a shocking track last night. The riders of both sides deserve great credit for soldiering on when conditions were far from ideal. Charles ochiltree would turn in his grave if he could see what has happened to his beloved Brandon this season.
  14. Edinburgh website still showing the monarchs at the showground this coming Sunday.
  15. A very interesting statistic Arnie, let's hope this dry weather lasts for another month!
  16. I know I sound like a broken record. At the rate the sport is declining in this country, what crowd levels will be attending speedway by the time this venue gets built.
  17. Apart from the delays, I didn't think it was too bad a meeting, but that might be down to how little I expect from speedway these days. On such a warm day the track was under watered from the start, with dust rising from heat 1. I tend to agree with you shads, maybe it's time this meeting was moved elsewhere.
  18. I noticed that iwade put an advert in the british masters grasstrack programme on Sunday. It's good to keep the venue alive in the public eye.
  19. are they the same ones you wore at the eagles v lakeside meeting a few weeks ago mike!
  20. if the eagles can pull in the same crowds as mildenhall for NL racing mike, they will be well pleased.
