  1. if he hasn't put any money into kent, why has roger cearns sat back and watched Len ride shotgun over everybody that doesn't fit in with his way of thinking. It seems to be a very strange way to run a business!
  2. I am easily pleased when it comes to new tracks opening in the south east. It's been thirty years since the last one! i am easily pleased when it comes to new tracks opening in the south east, It's been 30 years since the last one!. I don't for one minute think that Len is just a figurehead at Central Park, without his money I don't think it would have happened. They do pretty well to squeeze the whole show into a two hour period, especially with the amount of spills at NL level. Sure, the track is not perfect but the facilities are good and it's nice to sit in a decent grandstand after a hard days work!
  3. I'm not a fan of 'Len silver speedway', far from it, but I do believe that without Len, there would be no speedway at Central Park. Us fans in the south east now have a fine stadium with a slowly improving track to watch speedway in. After losing the IOW last season it would be a disaster to lose another track within our barren area. I will continue the mad rush from South London to kent kings on monday nights, because believe it or not, I enjoy going there!
  4. No different to football shads. The gooners have lost a few players from last season and i ain't gonna miss none of them!
  5. i'm all in favour of the fast track system, but it should have been introduced at PL level this season. It has been the final nail in the coffin for the EL this year, with many fans voting with their feet. At lakeside last Friday wolves lined up with woffinden, R/R, three double uppers and two Fast trackers, absolute madness. Jon Cook was raving after the meeting saying what a great show they put on!. The worrying thing is, I think the promoters actually believe this!
  6. West ham's custom house stadium, the 'daddy' of the London tracks. I still miss it greatly!
  7. i can see Len cashing in on him next season, and I don't blame him
  8. Being a school night never stopped my old man taking me to west ham or white city when i was a kid. I just used to kip in the car on the way home!
  9. highlight of the season for me at rye were the comedy duo on starting gate duty on saturday. It was pure slapstick, and far more entertaining than the meeting!
  10. What side of the wall will berwick be when the border controls come into use!
  11. They were both getting some stick from the home fans at rye on saturday!
  12. Both of my kids lost interest in speedway when they hit their teens. It was different when i was their age, big crowds in big stadiums. 300 people at rye house on a damp saturday don't have the same appeal!
  13. does that mean that you lot will leave the ' British league' when you vote for independence!
  14. After the last race I saw Len getting heckled by some punters on the home straight, was you one of them shads!
  15. I'm a big collector of london & south east club race jackets. I have over 150 in my collection, but i have never seen or heard of an original highwayman jacket for sale ever!. But don't give up, it only took me 40 years to get hold of an original west ham london jacket from the 1970's!!!
  16. Restaging date for this meeting. Wednesday 30th july 7.30.
  17. To be fair the track has improved over the last few weeks. There was some decent racing in the recent devon match. The problem is the curfew, with very little time allowed for mid meeting grading and watering breaks.
  18. they don't make them in your size do they shads!!!
  19. One of the main reasons I have cut back at rye this season is the poor state of the stadium. The awful viewing from the bends, the jungle growing on the second bend, the hazardous state of the back straight, and other areas where I once stood are obstructed by the air fence. Now not all of this is lens fault but the stadium is starting to look like a dump. Add to all of this the poor state of the track whose tolerance to water is zero. I am not alone in feeling like this and a lot of rye regulars I know have already jumped ship. Now This is not an anti Len rant, it's just my opinion.
  20. The whole set up at rye needs a major overhaul before the support dwindles away to nothing.
  21. I was thinking the same shads, if the away riders are on tour some effort should be made to save the meeting.
  22. At this rate the rockets home league season will run well into September. Not a bad thing for me, with the EL winding down for most teams.
  23. I agree shads, i hope uncle len does as well!
  24. A few big showers are forecast for tomorrow, maybe uncle Len will pull the plug on this early!
