that is the big question shads. with the raiders returning, meaning more home meetings at rye. It will be a lot of work for Len running three teams out of two tracks at his age.
I agree, the ever changing curfew together with the unpredictable track conditions certainly look like a plot to undermine the current speedway promotion.
It's a real shame that iwade is not an SCB licensed track anymore. I went to the vast majority of the CL matches in the 1990's and 2000's. Those meetings were some of the most enjoyable that i went to in that era.
Last nights meeting at Leicester was an great advert for NL speedway. A hard fought match between two fully committed teams on an excellently prepared track. £12 to get in and all finished by 9.10. What more could you want!
Although I'm biased, it must be Wimbledon. Luxury dining in the superb grandstand that was years ahead of its time. Sadly alll just a distant memory now.
Does this mean that iwade is not a licensed SCB track anymore. If so, do they still plan to stage amateur speedway meetings like those occasionally held at lydd.
To be fair to the old boy, Len was very hands on at the farcical NL fours at coventry yesterday. I do believe his input had a big bearing on the meeting going ahead, despite the best efforts of the Brandon track staff to get it called off!
i agree, it's going to be a big financial gamble to reopen brum. I don't envy anybody trying to promote a sport that is in decline, with very little chance of recovery.
The worse thing is, I was not at all surprised by the track farce at coventry this afternoon. It's the sort of thing that us long suffering speedway fans get used to. The problem is, there are a lot less of us now prepared to put up with it.
