Wimbledon and Wembley were far too posh. Watching speedway at custom House and Hyde road felt like being in a museum, you could feel the history. Just a personal opinion of course, everyone has their own favourite tracks and memories.
We've all been weaned off it Sid. Last year i attended 4 meetings, my lowest total since 1968, which was my first season. This year I've done 9, which includes 2 amateur meetings at Lydd and 1 on the grass. I really feel we are entering the last professional era for the sport in this country.
Not a bad meeting. The crowd was down on last week, but that was to be expected with so many rain off tickets being used for the Glasgow match. Next week they go up against England on the box. It will be interesting to see how many people choose football over speedway. Central park for me!
I see unlike Poole, the dogs are still running at Swindon. The stadium is still operational, so speedway should have a chance of returning, if it remains open.
I went to watch one of my local step 7 clubs, which attracted a crowd of less than 100. Yet they used a multi camera set up to film the proceedings. This is not uncommon at non league football.
