Rye House Vs Peterborough Panthers 6/4/15 Lc
cityrebel replied to Panthers89's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
nice photos Steve. I've just noticed the lack of young people in the crowd, no surprise there then. Just where is the next generation of speedway fans going to come from. -
Kl Stars Vs Bv Aces Weds 8/4
cityrebel replied to Star Lady's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
the worrying thing for me is, I honestly think that the promoters believe they are providing us with a good product. -
you can easily get tickets if you become a member. I got one for the liverpool game only two days before the match via the clubs ticket exchange scheme.

Kent V Eastbourne, Easter Monday 6th April

A very good meeting today in front of an excellent crowd. I must admit I was suffering with the Artic like weather though! -
Coventry Stadium - The Promotion Men Vs Boys !
cityrebel replied to markyb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
as a neutral with no axe to grind, I was at lakeside on Friday. It was another poor meeting on a lifeless track. In fact I enjoyed eastbourne far more, watching a few youngsters give their all on a very wet surface. -

The bore fest at king's Lynn last week was a typical meeting, the type I see every week. I have been to seven matches this season, with the exception of peterborough, all have been the same. Powerful bikes on ultra slick tracks with a couple of passes if you are lucky. Is speedway still exciting, if I'm honest I don't think it is. My kids don't go anymore, and I don't blame them. -
A decent crowd last night despite the awful weather, I was very lucky to see two meetings yesterday when most of the country was off. I was also impressed with the new look programme, which was worth £2.

Lakeside V King's Lynn 03/04/15
cityrebel replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
your point regarding west ham and the eyes of youth describes me to perfection!. As for lakeside, I think the track surface has deteriorated over the last couple of years. It seems worn out with very few racing lines and needs relaying. -
I think that eastbourne's first ever meeting as a stand alone NL club deserves a topic of its own. The weather forecast looks a bit dodgy, but drier PM. If this goes ahead I am expecting an eagles win.

Ebay is your best bet. The original is worth about £75, but you can pick the replica up for about £5. -
King's Lynn V Lakeside Tues 31st Sky 7.30
cityrebel replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
i don't envy you being up there dave, I'm struggling to stay awake with the Central heating full on! -
an investment in facilities is just what lakeside need. Arena essex in its present guise is not fit for a top league professional sports team like the hammers. As a fan that was brought up watching speedway in the great london stadiums of the 1970's, i am finding it harder to motivate myself to go to purfleet on Fridays. This has nothing to do with quality of racing, it's just that I need a bit more comfort in my old age!

For those of us lucky enough to see speedway at the moto parc, we must agree on one thing. It was a brilliant race track!!!

£21 inc prog for stars fans going to lakeside on Friday. I'm not impressed, it was freezing standing on the back straight for the Leicester match. Speedway needs to do a lot more to tempt new fans and keep hold of the old ones like me! -
Lakeside V Leicester Elite League 27.03.15
cityrebel replied to barrow boy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
it was easy enough to tell the difference from where I was standing on the back straight, which is a fair distance from the start line. -
that's because it didn't exist, it was all in our minds, just a dream!
