Leicester V Coventry 9th May 2015
cityrebel replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Having been to rye house tonight to watch a match with double R/R and guests all around, I was still shocked to see how weak the Leicester line up was tonight. EL you're having a laugh! -

A decent meeting at the launch pad tonight. A poor crowd, but what do you expect so soon after Mondays soap opera! -
I would not blame cook for relocating to Central Park, because the facilities at arena are awful. Unless the raceway has been sold for redevelopment, I see no reason why speedway should not continue there. The fan base is big enough to support PL racing, the only problem on the horizon is if both tracks run on the same night.

still up at 3.30am after a meeting at lakeside, the life of the unemployed speedway fan! -
since when have EL clubs ran home meetings on a weekly basis.
-
That was a short retirement, maybe len will put him straight back in the team!
-
As a lakeside regular, but not a lakeside fan. Things do seem pretty bleak at purfleet at the moment.
-
with only eight home meetings remaining after tomorrow nights match, lakeside's season is nearly over regardless of the result!

The only way around it is to run the rockets on Saturdays and the raiders on Sundays. Unless a discounted double ticket was sold, I doubt that many fans would attend both meetings. -

read the article on the website, or check out what Luke chessell has to say on Facebook! -
Well despite no topic being started for this meeting, I thought I would get the ball rolling after the farcical events at the launch pad yesterday. Although I was at kent and thankfully missed this meeting, I know friends that were there who were highly critical of the events that led to the second match being abandoned because of dust. There is a very frank interview with Andrew silver on the herts mercury website that makes very interesting reading for any rye regulars.

After 25 years of top flight racing, it will be hard to convince some eagles fans to give NL a try. Massive home wins do not put bums on seats, close exciting matches do. The tight turns of Arlington are proving a challenge for most of the visiting riders, let's hope for a more competitive meeting this Sunday.

he was in control of the farce at rye yesterday, Eddie you would have enjoyed it!, luckily I was at kent.

A poor crowd today, no doubt the local traffic problems on the A27 had a big impact.

A decent meeting tonight on a tricky track. A draw was a fair result after both teams suffered some bad luck. -
Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
cityrebel replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
To be honest, I don't care if he does or he doesn't. I've been to sixteen meetings already this season and haven't thought about him once. The sport will carry on in this country regardless of him ever riding here again. -
Kent Kings V Cradley Heathens Nl 27/4

the crowd was down on the eastbourne meeting, but a local derby on a dry bank holiday afternoon was always going to attract a decent turn out. The official crowd figure for the eastbourne v king's Lynn meeting a couple of weeks ago was a lot higher than I estimated on the day, what do I know! -

it would take more than an act of god to save speedway! -
the forecast does look dodgy at the moment, but Sunday is a long way off. I was at kent last night on a supposedly dry evening, where there was a downpour before start time!

Last night was a meeting that Had it all. Rain, numerous re runs, crashes, fence damage and a few good races thrown in. We only got 14 heats, but after the earlier mayhem, we did well to get that amount!
