I lasted about 6 races on Monday, before nodding off. I thought I'd catch up watching the 'highlights' programme on Tuesday, but that was all talk with only selected heats shown. Not impressed.

If restrictions on crowd levels are not lifted, some clubs will fold. It's inevitable.

Pay on the gate needs to return desperately. People need to be able to decide on the day, especially in unsettled weather.

Were so successful. They are in the 2nd tier of British speedway now. -

I was there. He definitely looked out of sorts. -
Is the ferry situation likely to change, for us fans that use the fast cat on the mainland.

Brummies Season Halted |

Should be a £1 discount according to the rules. Surely you kind folk can let them off, considering the clubs circumstances. -
I've been to ten meetings already in this stop start season. I've paid my money, so I'm allowed an opinion.

So fans should accept an expensive sub standard product and be grateful for it. This is 2021, people generally expect and demand value for money. Unless speedway promoters look outside their tiny little bubble, it hasn't got a chance.

They are like subcontractors, with a van full of different teams race jackets.

Too few races and too many delays sums speedway up. The whole show caters for the riders, not the suffering fans that pay to watch it.

Neither did it mine. I was going to West Ham as an eight year old on a Tuesday night from my South London home. I slept in the car coming home and always got up for school in the morning.

It's like the Titanic, heading towards the iceberg.

This afternoon, i went to an excellent British Masters Grasstrack qualifier at the superb Dig Dog Lane circuit in Frittenden Kent. Over 40 races run at breakneck speed with the rain falling throughout. No track inspections, just brave riders doing their stuff. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

If I'm honest, I'm not really enjoying this season. Multiple call offs, due to the weather, Covid and football has made it impossible to build up any momentum. Add to this, the need to buy tickets for every meeting has put me off attending some matches. Hopefully things will return to normal in July, although I'm not holding my breath.

I keep quiet, or I'll be hung, drawn and quartered!

You need to sign up to the Kent Kings news feed, if you want to hear it first.

It's just another expensive complication for what should be a very simple sport.

Meeting off.

A lot of blank years inbetween. I loved Wood lane. It was a short ride on the 220 bus. I only missed 4 meetings there from 1976 to 83.

I know, i was a lifelong Wimbledon fan who worked at the stadium for 22 years. I helped clear the place out after the Bradford fire. So many flammable items were stored under the stands, it was a minor miracle it stayed intact.
