  1. the annoying thing is Eddie, at the time of the call off, the rain had stopped and the track was improving with every heat. The riders were at the tapes, ready to race.
  2. My last three meetings were lakeside v belle vue, rye house v Berwick and kent v Birmingham. Three different levels of racing, but three excellent matches.
  3. Despite all the mayhem last night, I really enjoyed the meeting. Far more entertaining than the farce on sky.
  4. I totally agree with you. The huge costs involved in staging EL racing, coupled with the riders overseas commitments could mean financial suicide for some clubs if they suffered several rain offs. On the flip side you can't charge fans for fifteen races and only give them ten. Some form of discounted readmission must be put in place by the promoters.
  5. i totally agree with you, it was an excellent meeting tonight. I went there expecting very little, and it ended up being a cracker!
  6. Excellent meeting at the launch pad tonight, and as for Palm toft, that was one of the finest performances I've ever seen from a visiting rider at rye.
  7. he's talking about rye house later this afternoon, where I will now be going if it's on!
  8. looks like an improving forecast for this afternoon, maybe the damage is already done.
  9. Let's hope it's not too sunny, otherwise it could be a long evening!
  10. Yet another poor crowd at lakeside tonight, the fans are voting with their feet and it's too late to stop them.
  11. is it, no different to what he served up at lakeside last season.
  12. Still a few days away shads, think positive. The forecast can change.
  13. The first home meeting for lakeside in three weeks and what do we have, yet another patched up EL team. Together with a dodgy weather forecast, it's gonna be hard to pull the punters in for this one.
  14. Unless they were stolen to order, the items will be really hard to shift. The jackets can easily fetch £200 plus for right teams. There are a lot of vintage speedway bike collectors out there that pay really big money.
  15. Rye house v coventry last Saturday cost me £11 including prog, excellent value for money. I must say I'm really enjoying the addition of the raiders and eastbourne to the NL this season. Good honest local speedway at a reasonable price, which ticks all the boxes for me.
  16. I don't think kennett is a happy bunny at the launch pad shads. He looks like a bear with a sore head, before, during and after meetings. It looks like someone has upset him. It's not affecting his performances on the track though.
  17. Every sky match should be a fiver, it looks so much better on TV with a big crowd in the stadium.
  18. who would have thought it, Luke Bowen practicing at another track on the same day that rye house had a home meeting. Things have certainly changed at the launch pad.
  19. no probs, I wonder if this rumour is the same one as lakeside relocating to kent next season, which has been denied by the hammers promotion.
  20. I was there yesterday and there was an excellent crowd for NL racing. Would the attendances improve enough to support EL, I'm not sure. The main stumbling block would be obtaining full planning permission when it's up for review at the end of next season.
