  1. I think the raiders are a seperate club as far as Len is concerned. That's why we had all of the father and son aggro earlier in the season.
  2. i've never seen any footage from the rebels era other than the 1976 press and practice day which is on youtube. league racing was much more enjoyable at wood lane Sidney, despite being a Wimbledon fan!
  3. Why is rye such a one man band shads, surely the old duffer could employ a track curator and someone who can drive the water cart. How much longer can a man of lens great age keep on doing everything.
  4. that's a bit rich coming from a club that had magic mason in the team. Surely the NL is a league for developing young riders.
  5. Tonight sees a weakened tigers team visit the launch pad. They will be facing a nearly full strength rockets side, looking to bounce back from the Berwick defeat last Sunday. I predict a home win with plenty of dust, please prove me wrong uncle Len!
  6. I only missed four meetings at the white city from 1976 to 1983. Some were good, some were bad and some like the 1982 british open were forgettable!
  7. thanks for reminding me john. It seems like a lifetime ago.
  8. if eastbourne do listen to what people say, maybe they can reduce uncle bobs tractor breaks, and attempt to run a meeting in under two hours. As an Arlington regular, that would be a good starting point to keep the show moving.
  9. the thing is john, after watching 81 races at lakeside Friday, lydd Saturday and rye Sunday, something had to give. Last night I contented myself with watching the meeting on sky!
  10. I've never seen any details of the meetings run at the dog track either.
  11. probably the same reason test matches are a thing of the past. It seems a lot of fans just want regular domestic team matches, myself included. Even the attraction of seeing a few new riders couldn't tempt me to go tonight.
  12. it's not my opinion john, just a rumour I heard!
  13. I heard that one as well. Martin hagon will run lakeside in the NL next season with no Jon cook. Don't forget, you heard it here first!
  14. it was ten quid to get into london lions in 1996, an amount I thought was outrageous at the time. I still went to twenty meetings there that season!
  15. the dog track is surrounded by houses just like brooklands stadium was.
  16. Even the recycle bin would refuse to take them!
  17. there were stock cars at Arlington last night, I passed a few of them on my way to lydd yesterday for the veterans championship.
  18. I feel sorry for the ipswich management trying to promote this meeting. I suppose it's just about bearable if you live local, but I certainly wouldn't travel far to watch it.
  19. Can anyone please confirm if this coming Saturdays event is still on, and what time does it start.
  20. maybe a bit soon for Zak, but Wilson dean could do a job at reserve.
  21. according to the mildenhall website Michael, it's fen tigers v the Danes.
  22. I saw quite a few youngsters at kent kings last, they are definetly a minority at speedway these days.
  23. When I was younger PC meant Peter Collins, nowadays it stands for something completely different. I know which one I prefer!
