  1. maybe they should have learned from last season. The lack of meetings and awful track conditions have made watching speedway at rye a chore for me this year. I hope things improve soon.
  2. The new promoters at rye seem to have no sense of urgency in running meetings. Strung out parades, multiple tractor breaks and extended intervals just add to the experience of watching Speedway in a building site.
  3. the lack of dirt on the track at rye this season is an embarrassment. who is responsible for this, the infamous mr richter or is he acting under orders. come back len all is forgiven!
  4. i have to agree. Seeding the home nation is just a gimmick to boost advance ticket sales.
  5. Whatever the reasons, the loss of Hancock and pedersen tonight definitely devalued the event. It's the fans that attended I feel sorry for.
  6. Awful meeting, I'm struggling to stay awake watching this. Pearson deserves an oscar for trying to talk this up.
  7. I went to the 1984 long track final at herxheim. It poured with rain the night before the meeting. I can remember the emergency services doing a fantastic job, pumping the water off the track to ensure the final could go ahead.
  8. I didn't enjoy the last two day event in 1985, so I was never going to go to this. I was suprised to see dave kennett at Eastbourne last night, when eddie was riding at the showground.
  9. Kent seem to have gone off the boil a bit recently. So i'm going for a narrow home win.
  10. An excellent meeting tonight with some cracking racing from both teams. It exceeded my expectations for sure!
  11. If matt ford wants more meetings why doesn't he resurrect the buccaneers. I used to enjoy the NL matches at wimborne road.
  12. Why have kent only got one tractor driver to do the watering and the occasional grading. Surely someone could help with these tasks to ensure the meeting runs smoother.
  13. It was a great match raced in front of a big crowd. The lack of urgency in running the meeting came back to haunt kent big time, when birmingham started to deliberately slow the meeting down in the later heats to get a result.
  14. The sad thing is, the thames valley used to be such a thriving hotbed for speedway. Soon like london, it could become a thing of the past.
  15. It's a shame the Eastbourne management are not prepared to run regular meetings at Arlington. The home fixture list for august is farcical for a holiday resort.
  16. like him or loathe him, len silver must be one of the last promoters prepared to run speedway meetings every week. since he has left rye house there have been big gaps in the home fixture list, sometimes going weeks without a meeting. despite the awkward start time and the dreaded curfew, kent still stage meetings virtually every week. they are rewarded with healthy crowds at central park, which proves there is still an appetite for regular speedway in this country. I might not be len's biggest fan, but i'm grateful to have somewhere to go on a weekly basis in this speedway starved area of the country!
  17. Dry and bright in Sittingbourne at the moment. I can't guarantee it's gonna stay that way!
  18. Fans wanting a quick getaway is not exclusive to speedway. Look how many leave football grounds early, to beat the rush.
  19. Reading used to do this at smallmead in the bulldogs era.
  20. that's a surprise, he rode well last night.
  21. To be fair, buxton put in a battling performance at kent last night. They gave it their all from the first race till the last.
  22. I reckon rye house could be an outside bet for top flight racing. The new promoters BMR are already active in other forms of professional motor sport.
  23. You looked like you were really enjoying it tonight shads, still you can have a rest now until july 31st!
