  1. If matt ford wants more meetings why doesn't he resurrect the buccaneers. I used to enjoy the NL matches at wimborne road.
  2. Why have kent only got one tractor driver to do the watering and the occasional grading. Surely someone could help with these tasks to ensure the meeting runs smoother.
  3. It was a great match raced in front of a big crowd. The lack of urgency in running the meeting came back to haunt kent big time, when birmingham started to deliberately slow the meeting down in the later heats to get a result.
  4. The sad thing is, the thames valley used to be such a thriving hotbed for speedway. Soon like london, it could become a thing of the past.
  5. It's a shame the Eastbourne management are not prepared to run regular meetings at Arlington. The home fixture list for august is farcical for a holiday resort.
  6. like him or loathe him, len silver must be one of the last promoters prepared to run speedway meetings every week. since he has left rye house there have been big gaps in the home fixture list, sometimes going weeks without a meeting. despite the awkward start time and the dreaded curfew, kent still stage meetings virtually every week. they are rewarded with healthy crowds at central park, which proves there is still an appetite for regular speedway in this country. I might not be len's biggest fan, but i'm grateful to have somewhere to go on a weekly basis in this speedway starved area of the country!
  7. Dry and bright in Sittingbourne at the moment. I can't guarantee it's gonna stay that way!
  8. Fans wanting a quick getaway is not exclusive to speedway. Look how many leave football grounds early, to beat the rush.
  9. Reading used to do this at smallmead in the bulldogs era.
  10. that's a surprise, he rode well last night.
  11. To be fair, buxton put in a battling performance at kent last night. They gave it their all from the first race till the last.
  12. I reckon rye house could be an outside bet for top flight racing. The new promoters BMR are already active in other forms of professional motor sport.
  13. You looked like you were really enjoying it tonight shads, still you can have a rest now until july 31st!
  14. The poole select rode really well tonight and really attacked a tricky track. Lakeside looked like they never fancied it before or after the rain.
  15. I wonder if TR is going to run another end of an era meeting at the end of the season, maybe it could become an annual event!
  16. Back to tomorrow nights meeting. I don't blame lakeside for not wanting to cancel it, but if I was Jon Cook, I'd be embarrassed to promote it!
  17. i've been to fifteen tracks already this season across all three leagues. At the vast majority of the meetings the crowds have been poor. It's amazing how some clubs survive. The promoters must have deep pockets or very clever accountants!
  18. there is no easy way to fix the problems in british speedway, hence the staggered fixture list in all three leagues. Some sports just go out of fashion, and the yearly tinkering of the rules won't bring the crowds back. Poole get healthy attendances, so have a different agenda to most of the other clubs.
  19. if more meetings was the answer, why was the KOC and the craven shield scrapped.
  20. Matt ford is probably in a minority when it comes to wanting more meetings. For most promoters, more meetings mean more losses!
  21. no it was a seperate stadium opposite the football ground.
  22. The weather forecast is for showers. Maybe the plug will be pulled early!
  23. Six weeks without a home meeting. Elite league speedway at its best!
