  1. jump on the train to polegate from victoria. Takes about 75 mins.
  2. Sunday nights at rye this season have gone down like a lead balloon.
  3. It can't be too basic a stadium if the dogs are going to run there. Some punters want to be wined and dined while they watch the racing.
  4. I went past the old place yesterday, it did look a site for sore eyes.
  5. i saw some great meetings at perry Barr. It was a really smart stadium with good facilities.
  6. I went to ice speedway at heerenveen in the mid 1980's. Is it being staged at the same venue.
  7. Being a regular at eastie and Central Park, I'm looking forward to both meetings.
  8. romford, great stadium, massive crowds, narrow track and concrete safety fence!
  9. How many swindon fans truly believe that the new stadium will be built and ready for next season.
  10. Not having a home meeting next weekend could really backfire on the eagles if the weather takes a turn for the worse.
  11. Ronnie Greene's other club Bristol also had a star on their race jackets in the late 1930's.
  12. An extra televised meeting and the revenue it brings in, is probably more important to lakeside than qualifying for the final. I get the impression they run a tight ship at arena and need to balance the books. I was at the meeting last night, and the tricky track conditions definitely hindered the home side. With Jonsson and a consistent surface the hammers might have nicked a narrow home win.
  13. you and me both. I had to get the last 220 bus to get me home, I had school in the morning.
  14. hi Steve, I'm going by my pre war postcard collection. I have several from 1937, prior to that I think the dons rode in a plain red jacket.
  15. i saw it this morning. I thought I was losing my marbles when it disappeared!
  16. I also heard that rumour, but the meeting was being held at a neutral track.
  17. Give or take a year, I think the yellow star was first used by the dons on their race jackets in 1937.
  18. Last night after watching yet another long drawn out meeting at rye house. Tomorrow is another day and I'm already looking forward to going to lakeside v belle vue!
  19. Yet another 'well run' meeting at the launch pad tonight. Multiple re runs, exstensive tractor breaks all added to the 'entertainment' on offer. If the track gets any slicker it would be classed as concrete. Can someone get a grip and sort this fine old club out. Rant over!
  20. With six other NL teams racing today, it must have been near impossible to book guests for this afternoon.
  21. I was at eastie today shads, but it looked well run according to the updates.
