  1. No Ayres, Shanes, magic or verge. Uncle Len must have some rabbits under his hat for next season!
  2. As long as magic mason is in the team, I'm sure the crowds will flock to central park!!!
  3. No trophy meetings at arena, only 11 league matches and a possible cup/play off run. Alternate sundays might be enough to accommodate a limited fixture list.
  4. It's not the first time this has happened is it. Long eaton & wolves, ipswich & king's lynn, reading & swindon, exeter & newport and Scunthorpe & Sheffield. Have I missed any out?
  5. Friday at 8 seems like an ideal race night!!!
  6. Strudders was doing second halves at Wimbledon over a decade ago, he's no spring chicken!
  7. Such a shame. Ellesmere was a beast of a track, big and fast and not for the faint hearted.
  8. With rye house, Eastbourne and the Gp's running on most saturdays, I would imagine their options are somewhat limited.
  9. Too right, working for a london council, I haven't had a decent pay rise in years.
  10. Multipack snickers bars are almost as small as the funsize!
  11. With Connor Coles signing for Newcastle, I can't see there being many Sunday meetings at Arlington next season.
  12. Speedway, stock cars and greyhound racing are cloth cap sports that are in decline nationally, not just in london.
  13. I only saw fundin ride at the end of his career when he was at wembley. I remember him getting loudly booed at the world team cup final, which the swedes won in 1970.
  14. that's the jacket, but the problem is my badges are definitely 1940's/50's. I reckon they must be harringay minus the wheel.
  15. In the 1940's & early 50's did any team apart from harringay ride with blue and yellow quarters on their race jacket. The reason I ask, is I have two original plastic badges from that period with the colours reversed but with no logo on the jacket.
  16. i still think he would be a great signing for Somerset, if they could afford him. Just the sort of rider a promoted club need to raise their profile.
  17. i'm a white city rebel, not a Somerset rebel!
  18. Not unless they reach agreement with the landlords at arena.
  19. In my favourite era of the early 1970's, the hammers wore claret and blue west ham football tops underneath their red, white and blue race jackets!
  20. Could stock car racing be staged at BP to supplement the speedway income. The cars used to race at blackbird road.
