From a very good start, the crowds at the last few meetings I have attended have declined. This usually happens every season when the enthusiasm wears off.
I couldn't face kent today, the lakeside meeting was too fresh in the memory for me. I went to rye instead, to watch a former kings hero Danny Ayres have an excellent meeting. Kent are going to miss him this season.
Poole are not alone in preparing an unacceptable track this season, I've seen too many already. This worrying trend could really hurt speedway attendances long term.
A bit of a long drawn out meeting last night, with far too many incidents for my liking, some that could have turned out nasty. It was good to see a large turn out of heathens fans, which certainly boosted the crowd.
I remember a sky meeting at lakeside a couple of years ago. The riders were at the tapes for heat 11 ready to race, yet were called back to the pits and the meeting was abandoned. This was despite improving track conditions and faster race times.
Well I enjoyed last night's meeting much more than the one on good friday. The majority of the meetings I attend are at NL level, this is down to logistics rather than choice. Rye House has become an island in terms of top flight racing in the south East, for how long, who knows.
