  1. It's gonna be a gamble for anyone travelling to speedway today. I just got away with it at lakeside yesterday, I might just stay local today.
  2. Good crowd today, more Sunday meetings on the way I hope!
  3. A decent crowd would be an improvement on the last two home meetings!
  4. i worked with lionel in the refs box at Wimbledon in the early 1980's. He was always talking about crystal palace speedway!
  5. If lakeside can't pull in a decent crowd tomorrow, then the alarm bells will definitely be ringing.
  6. if you want transparency and integrity you are following the wrong sport.
  7. Harris is one of the few modern riders that can put bums on seats, the crowds at rye this season prove this. He might not be cheap, but he provide VFM in my opinion.
  8. Mason is named to ride for Swindon at Plymouth tonight.
  9. The hammers management needed to do something to try and get the crowds to return to purfleet this season.
  10. Eddie james was involved with iwade and Wimbledon juniors back in the 1970's and 80's. Eddie was a nice bloke who always found time for a chat.
  11. Lynn would be a bit of a long trek for magic.
  12. Let's see how Paul performs when riding on a regular basis, on some tracks that are not familiar to him. If he finishes the season on a 10 point average, then lakeside have pulled a smart one.
  13. I try and avoid the place if I can. The track is awful, and far removed from the the great little circuit it once was, when I first went there in 1978.
  14. Hardly any meetings at Rye these days, with big gaps between the next two league matches. I used to moan there was too many meetings when len was running the show.
  15. There was torrential rain only a few miles away. To see a meeting last night was a bonus.
  16. Lots of big showers forecast for today, let's hope that the launch pad misses them!
  17. The track at rye this season is neither narrow nor particularly dusty, just ultra slick!
  18. The track must be saturated after the rain that's fallen in the past couple of days. Heavy showers are forecast for this afternoon as well. Sensible decision.
  19. I can only see the number of clubs wanting to race in the NL increasing in years to come.
  20. It was announced during the interval on Saturday. The lack of medical cover has a touch of the Lynn v eagles high winds postponement from a couple of weeks ago!
  21. If the product was better, fans might be inclined to get more involved.
  22. Last night's Lynn team isn't doing anyone any favours. They are woefully weak and remind me of the scunny team of four years ago. If the promoters aren't serious about the young stars they should pull the plug on it.
  23. after watching an awfully weak Lynn side at kent tonight, Saturdays postponement is not a bad thing.
  24. Brennan was flying again at eastie last night. Only a fast start by Mitchell davey in heat 15 denied him a full house.
  25. most speedway fans will put up with basic facilities, but a lot of dog punters want to be wined and dined.
