Harris is one of the few modern riders that can put bums on seats, the crowds at rye this season prove this. He might not be cheap, but he provide VFM in my opinion.
Let's see how Paul performs when riding on a regular basis, on some tracks that are not familiar to him. If he finishes the season on a 10 point average, then lakeside have pulled a smart one.
I try and avoid the place if I can. The track is awful, and far removed from the the great little circuit it once was, when I first went there in 1978.
Hardly any meetings at Rye these days, with big gaps between the next two league matches. I used to moan there was too many meetings when len was running the show.
The track must be saturated after the rain that's fallen in the past couple of days. Heavy showers are forecast for this afternoon as well.
Sensible decision.
It was announced during the interval on Saturday. The lack of medical cover has a touch of the Lynn v eagles high winds postponement from a couple of weeks ago!
Last night's Lynn team isn't doing anyone any favours. They are woefully weak and remind me of the scunny team of four years ago. If the promoters aren't serious about the young stars they should pull the plug on it.
