  1. Where did I say that. Promoters should use their discretion to refund fans that are not local to their track. When a football club change the date of a match, they offer a full refund. It's not rocket science is It!.
  2. The sport is knackered from top to bottom. Crowds are falling everywhere, and the bad weather has accelerated the decline. When the price went up to over a pound a race, the writing was on the wall.
  3. Sometimes clubs have a moral duty to do the right thing, regardless of any rules implemented by the BSPA.
  4. Last night at Eastbourne was my eleventh meeting of the season. The majority of the crowds have been very poor. How some clubs remain solvent, I will never know.
  5. How can clubs that have traditionally ran at weekends, still expect to mainain their crowds levels when switching to a midweek race night. Lemmings jumping off a cliff springs to mind!
  6. It would be nice to see some closer matches at Arlington, last night was pretty boring if I'm honest. Still you can only beat what's put in front of you.
  7. It all comes down to costs Steve. Kevlars are very expensive to produce, and race jackets only cost around the £50 Mark to make. Rye house have been using the dreadful race shirts this season. It's all about saving money rather than appearance.
  8. The main difference is the age of the fans. God knows what state British speedway will be in when a lot of us oldies die off. I give it a decade, if we are lucky.
  9. The crowd was poor at rye last night. The midweek race night doesn't suit everybody. Wednesday's were never that great at arena either.
  10. Crowds are on the up as well, which is the most important thing. Having a young team helps to keep the fans interested.
  11. I was at Eastbourne last Saturday, where the track was still tricky despite a few days of dry weather.
  12. I'm not a rye fan, but I am a hoddesdon regular just giving my opinion. My team Wimbledon closed years ago, and we had plenty of poor results!
  13. Rye should have moved back to the middle tier. Saturday night racing with more local derbies is a no brainer really. The team is too old and too expensive, coupled with the awful facilities at hoddesdon, it's a recipe for disaster.
  14. RIP Ivan. I travelled with the great man on his farewell tour to Poland in 1985, when he treated me like one of his family. There will never be another rider like Ivan, who took the sport to another level.
  15. It's a shame, but the majority of fans don't travel in dodgy weather anymore, and who can blame them.
  16. I'm not cookies greatest fan, but no one can accuse him of not running a slick meeting. Ok it started a bit late, but there is no interval at arena and swift tractor breaks, which is greatly appreciated by us fans from south of the river.
  17. Taking over the brummies might end up an expensive mistake!
  18. Well I was there on Thursday, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was a little concerned with the fog on the Solent, but luckily it lifted inland. Young Ben was involved with some great scraps with Danny ayres, which provided great entertainment!
  19. Kent kings, now there is a name from the past. When does the home season start, last week in April. Must be a record for uncle Len!
  20. Long standing fans know the deal on rain offs, it's a risk we all take. Casual punters and newbies will feel ripped off and might not come again. What I saw the other night was not worth £2 per race of my hard earned money.
  21. My earliest memory was seeing Steve bast ride for Wembley in 1970. I was only a nipper at the the time, but I'm sure his stay was very brief!.
