  1. I reckon the losses will be a lot more than 30k at numerous tracks by the end of the season.
  2. Remember me squeezing that air horn Steve, when Barbara was sitting in front of you. She got the right hump with you!
  3. Wimbledon hardly ever run coach trips to the boulevard. The only one I can remember was on royal wedding day in 1981. My previous visit was by train.
  4. To be honest, with the awful crowd levels at rye this season. I'm surprised the plug wasn't pulled after the Lynn TV meeting.
  5. Vasey wasn't team manager at Kent a couple of weeks ago.
  6. Kent's performance on Saturday did no favours to Eastbourne's business. Plenty of fans left early, and who can blame them. I can't remember a worse display from a visiting team at Arlington, and that's saying something.
  7. Still madness to run against England on what is not your regular race night. Why force fans into making a choice.
  8. Football is a religion to most fans, they would turn up if kick off was at 3am in the morning!
  9. I have to agree. When I was a kid I regularly went to west ham and white city on a school night. The majority of the nation are turning into couch potatoes. I blame the digital age!
  10. Many moons ago, Milton Keynes got kicked out of the league for similar scenarios like stoke are serving up on a weekly basis.
  11. Cyril was a very sociable chap. I had a few nice chats with him about his racing days on my visits to Newport, a real Gentleman. RIP Cyril.
  12. An awful performance from a poorly assembled team, that definitely needs some surgery.
  13. No curfew to my knowledge, The traffic outside is louder than the bikes!
  14. The latest finish at lakeside for many years. The last one was a double header against stoke and Peterborough that went past the 11.30 Mark. With an 8pm start, any delays are going to be felt more. I stuck it out to the end, but I'm feeling it this morning.
  15. If a rider aims to reach the top of his profession, he should be able to ride any track. The likes of Adams, Crump & Ward were brilliant at arena.
  16. I watch speedway regularly at all three levels, and crowds are down across the board. Not all of this can be blamed on fixed race nights. The product and the facilities are generally poor, and don't represent value for money anymore. I paid £21 including prog to watch a dust bowl at Poole last night, was it worth it, not in my opinion.
  17. I have to agree, the track was poor last night. Underwatered and very patchy, with too much dry loose material on the outside, which caught out a few of the riders. As a neutral it was my first visit of the season to poole, so I have no axe to grind.
  18. Big home win I reckon. Lakeside must be the toughest away track to visit.
  19. It's been an absolute disaster for one of my local tracks, Rye house. Since giving up their Saturday race night, their crowds have plummeted. The end of the season can't come soon enough for some clubs.
  20. It's hard to see how much longer the sport can survive in its current form. No wonder the fans are leaving in their droves.
