Kent's performance on Saturday did no favours to Eastbourne's business. Plenty of fans left early, and who can blame them. I can't remember a worse display from a visiting team at Arlington, and that's saying something.
I have to agree. When I was a kid I regularly went to west ham and white city on a school night. The majority of the nation are turning into couch potatoes. I blame the digital age!
The latest finish at lakeside for many years. The last one was a double header against stoke and Peterborough that went past the 11.30 Mark. With an 8pm start, any delays are going to be felt more. I stuck it out to the end, but I'm feeling it this morning.
I watch speedway regularly at all three levels, and crowds are down across the board. Not all of this can be blamed on fixed race nights. The product and the facilities are generally poor, and don't represent value for money anymore. I paid £21 including prog to watch a dust bowl at Poole last night, was it worth it, not in my opinion.
I have to agree, the track was poor last night. Underwatered and very patchy, with too much dry loose material on the outside, which caught out a few of the riders. As a neutral it was my first visit of the season to poole, so I have no axe to grind.
It's been an absolute disaster for one of my local tracks, Rye house. Since giving up their Saturday race night, their crowds have plummeted. The end of the season can't come soon enough for some clubs.
