  1. A lot of sports forums are treated with contempt by the powers that be. They are happy to take our money, but we are not allowed to have a voice.
  2. Fingers crossed that your team survive shads. Things are looking bleak at the moment, but until it's official, there's still hope.
  3. 39 - 51, nearly right. Both sides had some bad luck, but a heavy fall for Ben Morley in heat 10 ended the warriors resistance. Leon flint was very impressive on the big smallbrook track.
  4. Too right. Sheffield and Ipswich have been running on Thursdays since the 1960's. Redcar (Middlesbrough, teesside) have also had long spells of thursday racing.
  5. There is no solution that suits everyone.
  6. Probably, he only does it twice a year though. So he has plenty of time to recover.
  7. No air fares for lakeside to find as well
  8. They let Swindon stay on Thursdays, so I don't see what the problem is. If belle vue wanted to go back to Friday's, would they let the aces fold.
  9. The disaster that awaited clubs that had to change race nights has filtered down to those tracks that didn't. The whole sport is bankrupt. This will be the last season of speedway in its current format.
  10. As a rye regular, I can confirm that the rumours have been circulating since the first home meeting of the season.
  11. No quotes or statements from anyone, even Rosco has nothing to say from the Swindon side. I've no doubt the powers that be have put a gagging order on things, whilst they try to sort the situation out.
  12. Every club has to run on the best night for their business, to attract the best crowd. If the riders can't commit to this, then they have to go. What is more important, The track surviving, or the riders financial needs.
  13. Rye used to be a nice place to watch speedway in the uncle Len era, although the stadium was starting to look shabby in his latter years. With the cost of repairs and a shrinking fan base, Len decided to jump ship, who can blame him. Rye has become a very uncomfortable place to watch speedway, and dragging over there on a Wednesday night has become a real chore for me. Still old habits die hard, and I have not missed a home meeting this season. Will I get to see another one, that is the big question.
  14. Did I mention rye house. I was referring to unusual call offs in other parts of the country!
  15. There was a short sun break at rye last Wednesday during the belle vue match.
  16. The train station car park is only £2 After 4pm.
