  1. The crowds were decent at the start of the season at lakeside, but they have slowly dwindled away. With England playing on Saturday afternoon, I half expected the Glasgow match to be called off.
  2. I fully expected the plug to be pulled after the TV meeting. I'm surprised they ran another three weeks later.
  3. I have to agree with you. The stadium ownership is going to be a major problem for any revival.
  4. The awful traffic congestion on the M25 has played a big part in rye's demise this season. Taking on the jams on a work night is a no goer for a lot of fans.
  5. Securing the use of the stadium, could be the biggest obstacle for any new promoter.
  6. This topic has definitely lost its way.
  7. The kart track looks like a very professional operation. The total opposite to their speedway neighbours.
  8. No link as far as I'm aware. As for the motocross track, going by the amount of weeds growing on it, I'd say it's had very little use.
  9. I would say, that's an accurate estimate shads.
  10. Lakeside called one off a few years ago because the m25 was shut. I've had a couple of near misses there that led to late starts. Mildenhall last season was the most recent. With all the traffic congestion around central park approaching start time, I've often thought about the possibility of a call off.
  11. The stadium has been empty for most of the meetings this season. The longer the silence and uncertainty goes on, The less I look for any news.
  12. At rye, they are down to the base after the parade lap!
  13. A lot of those people have purchased houses with understanding that the new stadium will be built several hundred metres away. I can see several legal challenges being brought if the stadium remains on its present site.
  14. Dartford crossing has been closed I believe. It's a first for me, I've never been to a meeting that was called off due to traffic congestion!
  15. I would imagine the payments are minimal compared to the SKY deal.
  16. I think everyone has been gagged Deano. The silence from all parties is deafening. It's the rye house fans I feel sorry for.
  17. Poor meeting tonight on a slick and dusty track, although the closeness of the scores kept it interesting. There was a couple of decent races later in the meeting, but overall not a lot to get excited about.
  18. I think the sport has deteriorated rapidly since Emil rode for Coventry. Without lucrative sponsorship and a big TV deal, I don't see how the top league can afford the better riders.
  19. We have very few names in world speedway to compete with those four. The likes of woffinden might pull a few in, but the days of the speedway superstars are over.
  20. Adams, Crump, rickardsson & Gollob were big names. Who of today's riders can pull in the crowds these days.
  21. I'm sure last year's double header was £18, but i think the fen tigers have had a hefty rent increase this year.
  22. Home win for me, I reckon the brummies will be happy with an away point.
  23. The IOW was a bit on the dry side on Thursday, but they are suffering from poor shale. They have a mound of the stuff in the pits which they are unable to use. I gather this was sent my mistake, and not because they are poor payers.
