  1. I used www.ticketportal.cz, as I go every year I set up an account. The link was in “my orders” once I’d logged in. I’ve always got my tickets via AK Marketa, they link to this site. Hope this helps.
  2. Strange I posted out of the blue today, I received an email this afternoon which will allow us to attend in 2021 if we can’t make September. Just need to contact the ticket office to apply. Happy days. I hope you get good news about yours!
  3. I can only speak as I find regarding EasyJet, one time returning from Prague our evening flight was pulled, not easyJet’s fault. I know they have a right of care to their customers but 5 of us were put up in SEPARATE Rooms in an almost 5star hotel, we were fed too! All this at no cost to us! They were also prepared to “keep us” for the following few days until they had space on flights to get us home! We couldn’t delay getting home, we used Czech Airlines at twice the cost. EasyJet covered the cost of everything including taxi fares & refreshments..........not bad in my opinion OB! The only inconvenience was getting home the day after planned. BTW, I don’t work for them!!!!! The reason I came here was to say that AK Markéta have still not offered any solution for my original request. “Tickets are still valid” seems to be the standard answer. I’m left with 3 grandstand tickets, right above the start. Anyone interested? LOL
  4. I think we’ve done well then Screm. Just wish I hadn’t bought grandstand startline tickets. LOL I got a reply from the Marketa again yesterday, it was a little ambiguous. I got the feeling they may be sympathetic, only time will tell.
  5. It’s no ones fault we are in this predicament, there are so many grey areas regarding what we can do or even claim for. BSI and the individual promoters cannot be blamed per se, it’s that there are so many variations between associated companies. One will “help” and another chooses to ignore! All we can do is simply ask, hopefully we get the right answer, it is what it is!
  6. That's very true but you'd only get a refund if the flight is cancelled. They're only dropping flights 7 days in advance. Prague is 4 weeks away from now, with my luck Easyjet may run odd flights by then! Didn't want to take a chance. It doesn't bother me and my friends, we go every year and the voucher will go toward the cost.....................no doubt they'll be dearer then!
  7. As the event date has been re-scheduled to September, my friends and I cannot make this date. I have been trying to get refunds or a voucher: EasyJet have been brilliant, they have given me a full-charge flight voucher to use & book within the year, flights can be after that date. By going through Booking.com to stay at the hotel we've always used has meant we had no cancellation fee to pay! There were no upfront charges either! Still awaiting to hear about my airport parking. Thankfully with three chipping in, it's not a fortune! The elephant in the room is the SGP tickets..............................BSI say it's the stadium that has to deal with it, they say nothing can be done until the Pandemic is over in the CZ Republic (by that I'm guessing they mean the restrictions). I'm interested to hear how others in the same situation are doing.
  8. Perhaps all will be explained at the forthcoming Fans Forum in Orsett..............................................................then again, maybe not. It's no secret that Jon Cook considered the Forum as a pain in the neck, to my knowledge he never posted on it although several of the Lakeside "staff" may or may not have on his behalf! Without genuine reason, it seems rather strange to close a long-standing forum because Facebook/Twitter are better?
  9. has not set their status

  10. I must remember to pack the inflatable dingy.................got it covered then, travel around Prague AND a return to Blighty guaranteed!..LOL
  11. I'm with you on this one. Although I get to one or two GP's every year, I prefer League racing. If we're to have the GP vs League scenario then the GP should remain an individual competition and the "teams" left to the league.
  12. It's a conspiracy, the draw's already been made (probably yesterday), programmes are already printed and ready for despatch. I'd like to see those responsible for picking the "live" draw to have a National Newspaper's Frontpage at hand!........LOL..... Even in this day and age it's a big task to have everything done and in place when it's started the day before!
  13. Hi Lis We're all confirmed for the GP, we fly in Friday Morning and we're likely to see the Stadium in the afternoon............then we're off to Tivoli for the concert..................can't wait. Anybody going to Copenhagen for the first time are in for a treat, the Danes are great and there's so much to do there! The banter between the Swedes and Danes is great to hear too! Andy
  14. Shorts and T-shirts Sandie!..........................oh, and perhaps a bin-liner to wear at the stadium! Good to meet you tonight at Lakeside, hopefully see you in Prague, Safe Journey!
  15. And to think this Referee is due to oversee two more GP's this year.......................can't wait!
  16. Even worse then Mate! You've a cup tea owed!..lol...
  17. Our fault for flying SleazyJet from Stanstead..........lol.... We've a good deal on the Hotel though...., city centre, 75 metres from Metro, TV, Shower & WC, breakfast, nearby shops..................£18 per person per night! We've stayed there before so we know what the standard is!...........good to excellent!
  18. That's the problem with budget airlines, you need to get your tickets ASAP as the price increases as time passes. We booked 6 tickets last month and it was roughly £580, on checking last week it was around £730..............
  19. Our lot stayed at the Cabinn City which was in walking distance of Tivoli Gardens and a short Tram journey to the Stadium. It's a bit like a Travel Lodge type of hotel. A short Taxi ride from the Airport. The rooms are on the small side but it's very reasonable and we found the staff very helpful. Breakfast is included, it's a basic one but you can keep going back for more. There is a small bar and a lounge to hang around in, the rooms are too small to sit around in, only for sleeping! Towels and toiletries are provided along with a kettle and TV. Beer was around £5 a "pint" and eating out was expensive, be prepared! We used the Hardrock Cafe near the Tivoli Gardens, very reasonable and a haunt of one or two riders. The Danes are terrific people, very hospitable and the City is well worth a tour around! No, I don't work for the Danish Tourist Agency!...............
  20. If you can get to Divisov, the Jawa Factory, that's worth a visit! Last year I was able to take in a meeting at Slany (30kms from Prague) on the Friday and a junior meeting took place on the Saturday morning in Pardubice. Try and get into the city centre, everything "touristy" is there, walk across the Charles Bridge and take a river trip as well. It is SO cheap in Prague, a six day travel card (Metro, Tram and Bus) cost £7 for UNLIMITED travel within Prague Postcodes.............Bus to Slany and back cost 75p!............I am going back next year, after doing Copenhagen and Geltenkirchen this year, it'll save me money............!
  21. We may be middle-aged on the Backstraight, but we're young at heart.............not only that Nobby has the body of a god!........... ....................Buddha!
  22. About a dozen of the Backstraight boys from Lakeside are off to Germany too! Only as an over-nighter! The flight and hotel is costing less than our tickets! A few, Nobby, BIVI and Trackman fly out on Friday................that's cos they can't wallk very quick with their Zimmerframes!
  23. I was also at Parken and I've got to say that we saw nothing untoward, the beer was flowing I admit, and to be fair all the Danes near us were very behaved (and momentarily annoyed)...............the Poles were more worse for the beer! There was a little jibing between the Danes and Swedes, but they were all walking down the road together!..... The only thing I was "disappointed with" was the failure for many Danes not to stand for the Swedish National Anthem (when Jonsson was on the podium). Some Danes were also horrified by this action. I like to think that we made some new friends whilst we were there, Danish and otherwise........................we seemed to speak to so many fans, that's the good thing about speedway, it still is a friendly and family sport!.........shame that one or two can spoil things! Lets hope this is not the future!
  24. Hi Lis, we're back home from our terrific time in Denmark, thanks for seeing us back to the Cabinn, very kind of you. That's the great thing about speedway fans, we do like to talk to each other! As for the booing at AJ, there was no trouble (that I saw) afterwards, only humourus jibes, I reckon it'll soon blow over..............the Danes are too nice! In fact, a few of them were embarrassed about their fellow countrymen. Not exactly a Nicky Pedersen fan, but I was happy to see his friendly gesture towards Jonsson afterwards...........in my mind that helped de-fuse a possible situation, top man!
  25. Hi Lis Thank you for your tips, most appreciated. As Gbr135 says, there are a few of us from the Backstraight Boys at Lakeside (Arena Essex) going, you won't miss us, we're all "oldies" and will be dressed in our blue "On Tour Shirts", come and have a chat (anybody going, that is!), we're a friendly bunch.
