  1. Belle Vue have Hospitality in the Craven suit, so a late call off is a nightmare, its not burgers and chips😂
  2. Agree Rob, rained heavy all day yesterday. Raining now, and the weather forecast seems to get worse by the hour.
  3. As Phil as said it won't be announced until official announcement comes out.
  4. Nah r/r is just another option. It doesn't make sense not to have a rule to cover all riders with a guest. For top second strings r/r just doesn't cover it.
  5. Yes Steve the rules have changed this year, last year you could get a guest for All Heat leaders and reserves but not second strings. You can now get a guest for any position, which is how it should be.
  6. Met office currently says dry from 10am. Also it will change a million times before Monday always does.
  7. Hey?? The Met Office has a bit of rain around 1am Monday Morning then it's bone dry.
  8. This was funded as part of the Eastland project and funds from Man city owners ties to the City. It was always to drive sporting investment as well as low cost housing. The stadium was designed and is used as a multi use site, and MC Council want big international events in the city, but it is not tied to the Aces staying there.
  9. Looks like now over 1000 tickets sold in the first hour.
  10. High Sided, was mid track, no other rider involved, simply overtrying for me.
  11. Wasn't the track, just unfortunate error form Ben, he was trying everything to pass.
  12. The concern for your boys is whether Ryan is fully fit, the infection was very nasty and it will won't be fully healed and very painful. There is every chance he wont practice and just try to ride through the pain. Even though it makes Leicester weaker without him I do hope he's fit to ride and race, we get a good guest, and 2 strong teams can race it out for the title. I have it as a 50/50 final, but I'm more optimistic than I was a week ago after our performance in the semi.
  13. Fully agree on Ben, really hope its nothing serious and he's back fit and flying for March at least. Missing Ben in the final is a blow but hopefully we can get a good guest. His paid 11 was from 6 rides due to Dan crashing out after 1 heat, he got 6 from his programmed rides. Anyway Fingers crossed for some good news on Ben in the next few days, as long as his long term health is OK I will be happy.
  14. I Think tonight either the Aces nick it or Sheffield win at a canter. I think if we are riding well enough to keep it close then we will get over the line.
  15. I fully agree with this. UK Speedway needs a more football style atmosphere, if you take someone to Speedway for the first time and the atmosphere is amazing, the buzz of that has a very good chance of bringing them back. What we don't want is for it to cross the line into abuse. The 2022 final at Sheffield was the best atmosphere I've been in during my 40 odd years watching the Aces, it was absolutely mental when we won, and that's because (as Mike BV says) it meant something to the fans and it meant something to our riders (as you saw with Zagar Jumping into the crowd). The flares added to the whole event, although i do understand some don't like them. If speedway is to survive and certainly if its going to grow, we need to move away from the current clap and move on brigade, harsh but true.
  16. Anyone whos been to Belle Vue will know exactly what Jack meant about the fence, its impossible to throw anything through it. The parents are clearly trouble makers.
  17. What a fantastic meeting this was, a great advert for our sport. A big crowd, great atmosphere, top class racing, no controversial moments, banter between home and away fans, couldn't ask for more, it really felt like the big occasion it should. I am happy with a 12 point lead as it gives the Aces a chance, Sheffield still slight favorites, but pulling back a lead of anything over 10 in play offs is not easy. As for the Jack Holder, worky fan issue, too me its something about nothing. The way I see it, without calling anyone a liar, Jack was asked for his teamsheet and could he sign it, he took the sheet down signed it then gave it to the child, why would he go to those efforts to then screw it up and throw it at the kid, it doesn't make sense. The easy option for Jack would have been to ignore the request and walk away, now maybe he didn't smile when he passed it over, but this was within a number of minutes after he'd been 5-1'd in heat 15, so he was probably still a bit pissed off. Anyway on to Thursday.
