What's Kenni Larsen up to these days? Due a return on a reassessed 7.00 average?

Surely one of the problems with Speedway is that there's too much of it. I've never fathomed why the EL say run the league fixtures twice, and then complain about how they incur massive losses per season. Isn't the answer to half the number of fixtures (and losses), and then by reducing the supply of fixtures the demand may increase? i.e. instead of everyone turning up at the end of the year for the playoffs, you then end up having good attendances for 10 weeks over the summer.

Do elaborate more? Were they being a disgrace by cheering or booing the riders / referee? Then it's about time that promoters got off the high horse with the "use it or lose it" attitude, and actually got out there promoting. People (especially families) won't continue to hand over, say £60 of their hard earned £ each weekend just to keep a sport running if they're not happy about something. Most folk nowadays don't have that attitude -- it's all about getting the best value for your £, and if speedway is not providing that, they'll not turn up regardless.

Would be interesting to see how many people are actually buying one... I know a few regular ticket holders who are somewhat uninspired by this "business as usual" team continuing from last season...

It's not about what team lines up at the start of the season, it's all about what team lines up at the end of the season. That being said, looking pretty weak atm.

Indeed, it will probably be the crowing achievement on his Speedway CV. Beating the same riders in the PL won't win him a world title, no matter how competent he is at doing it. Might also be why he has a lack of interest from foreign teams - would you sign a rider who seems content to stay in the lower leagues?

Why not? A season long qualification would add more meaning to them, and also unlike playoffs could be done and dusted in one meeting.

Make the league table the qualifier for the 4TT? Top of the table wins the title, top 8 teams go to the fours?

They did, they gave you a sandwich, badge, and a scarf at one of the meeting! ;-)

After a full season of racing, umpeen matches, what does it boil down to in the end? One team got an extra 5 points with the T/R and another team got an extra 6. Ha! About time they were banned in playoffs. That being said, Edinburgh topped the table so deserved the title regardless! Well done on a very successful season.

Run the league fixtures once, over the summer. It's so bloody obvious I can't see why the promotors haven't done it yet. If these meetings cost so much to run, why run them twice? Decrease supply (who wants to see the same team three times?) and increase demand.

Exactly. The Harris fanboys are more hurt than the Harris haters over this one. They can't handle the truuuuuth!

You would have thought that Harris would have dropped that point to Woffinden there. Could be the end of Woffindens world title run now.

If he had any sense of pride he wouldn't have accepted a 2014 place to start with. Congratulations. He had a very good meeting when it really counted, but make no mistake, next year will mark the continuation of the "standard Harris GP" form all over again, and again, and again... total embarrassment.

One swallow does not make a summer. I look forward to his usual form returning in the 2015 GP series. He just makes each GP so entertaining to watch!

Bit of a clever move here by the Berwick promotion to double up this fixture with the Newcastle match, so that all the Newcastle fans end up paying extra to compensate them for the Rye House fans who would never show up anyway if the match was on a different night...
