With the weather looking good for the weekend we are planning on running an open practice this Saturday (6th June) for riders with their own bikes... 125,250 and 500cc speedway bikes welcome, along with juniors and Flattrack bikes. After a successful 2013, Ride and skid it speedway experience will be returning to Buxton for a second year running! We provide a ideal Speedway experience for complete beginners to more accomplished motorcyclists wanting to have a bash at the sport. You will start off on the mini track riding the 125cc Speedway bikes, before moving onto the larger circuit, which is all done at your own pace by Les Collins a former world no2 speedway rider and his son Aidan, Himself four times British flattrack champion and former speedway rider. Many people ask us why we only use 125's and not 500cc bikes?? The answer to this is... By using 125cc's this allows the instructors to *Get hands on with everyone *Follow instructor on track *Show what it's like to Team ride *Show racing lines *Instructors show what it's like to race side by side This also keeps it safe as can be and fun for everyone and we are able to do a lot more things with the 125's and more importantly the things we will be showing you will benefit you learning more and making it an achievable day for everyone. In our first year running we have had a complete beginner to speedway who has now signed for a conference league team, We have also helped many amateur riders in gaining confidence and riding techniques in which they have taken and transferred onto their 500cc racing.. (speedway/grasstrack/dirttrack/road racing) We believe that you will not get better tuition anywhere else and the smiles on peoples faces at the end of the day had said it all! Starting from March and running throughout the summer, Buxton speedway will be holding 125cc speedway experience days. This will include 7 bikes available to hire, this will be increased to 10 in the coming season. *All safety gear will be provided *Full use of the main track *Tuition will be provided by Honda flattrack rider/former speedway rider Aidan Collins along with former world No2 Les Collins. *Bespoke packages can be tailored for beginners to more experienced men and women *Lunch/refreshments/opening of bar can also be included for group bookings.
