  1. Oh come on Noaksey - it's a chance to see what it's like at "The Green" without Grand Prix stars performing...... or perhaps we are already used to that???
  2. Any idea when the World Under-21 World Team Cup dates will be available? As a Wolverhampton fan I will be going to Eastbourne on 23 August 2014 to watch the Wolves ride without Piotr Pwlicki & Jacob Thorssell due to this years final at Slangurup. Not even sure if 'Lydia' will be there at #1 either? Keep the nails going into the Elite League coffin! There are far too many GP's, SWC's, Qualifiers etc that are killing league racing.
  3. Is it time for another Jon Cook three-year plan to be unveiled???
  4. Any update on how Piotr Pawlicki is? Can we expect r/r for the Belle Vue home and away next week?
  5. Lakeside offer a reduced admission for unemployed. Fair play to them.
  6. Travelling from Wolves for this one. Is there a real ale pub near the track that can be recommended, providing the M25 has been in a good mood! Thanks, Lefty
  7. .... and no doubt a big thank you for paying £2:50 for a programme as well . . .
  8. Any chance of a change of race night at Brandon? It was another miserable Friday night of travel from Wolverhampton with the M6 at it's glorious worst.
  9. Hi folks, any weather update would be appreciated. I'm laving Wolves area at 3pm. Thanks
  10. The New Zealander Dave Gifford was well known as '62' when he joined Wolves. This was his SoCal number when he rode in California. Billy & Greg will be remembered as 'spoons; so I hope objects as well as shapes and numbers can be used.... After all - Dave Jessup was known as "One Line" PS: Mike Bast is 'The Professor' and not not Hans Nielsen.......
  11. Can we look forward to a reduction in Elite League admission prices on the strength of this announcement?
  12. As a Wolves fan, I moan about the late starts at Brandon and the M6 being shut on the way home. At least I get home. Chris Holder twatting the ArmCo reminds me why the Elite League doesn't always deserve the quality of rider that entertain us. Don't knock this guy he's a worthy World Chanmpion.
  13. Graham Dury has a contract for next year - hope its not against OGT!
  14. So, am I to assume my 'BL team' will comprise a 1-5 of one or two Elite League riders, three or four double uppers. This will be topped up by NL riders at six and seven? Looks like £10 Adult speedway admission price has arrived!
  15. You also can't ignore that NK is unable to ride bends 3 & 4 at the Green and is only capable of scoring if he gates when on trap three or four. He wouldn't have the luxury of dropping to reserve either.
  16. Regarding speedway information is the "Birmingham Mail" a permanent replacement for the locked-out "Brummies" Web Site?
  17. Beer talking time xxx - I went to Sunderland v Bradford in 197X, I was spannering for Tony Freegard, we borowed a sprocket off Jim Ryman (sp) {the Boston lad] who lived in Howard Cole's dad's workshop at Wolves] (Sunderland gear ratio was a bastard - the Aussies passed the sprockets around). Promoter was Len Silver (Nel Revlis) think a friend of his promoted Hackney on the same night!!! George & Terry Barclay shared a Ford Zodiac - no boot lid - bikes in the boot (memo no oil painted van or full time mechanics). Dave Baugh equalled Ivan Mauger's historic track recod in Ht: 1. Len Silver gave me 'Field Of Dreams' before baseball thought about it! Jurrasic Park was a best selling film. Dinosaurs are great - Let 2014 be the year of Dinosaurs.... Let's get back to basics.... The Gun Powder Plot was hatched at Rye.... Len - blow the bastards up at the AGM!!!
  18. Any news on when the Brummies web site will reappear?
  19. Does anyone know if there will be a big Screen tonight and if so, Where? Thanks.
  20. Has 'Orion' conveniently forgotten Jimmy Nilsson who was fully committed to Swindon unless it was a Robin's meeting within a fortnight either side of a Grand Prix???
  21. Good post Wolfie. And we were top of the table for most of the season But do remember we have Peterborough & Belle Vue away to look forward to - if they get round to arranging dates!
  22. I'm glad that you can look forward TNT. Unfortunately the thread is 'Wolverhampton 2013'. I must presume you wern't at Birmingham or Coventry this week?. We are/were allegedly the 'top of the table' team! I'm getting very tired of seeing a patched up team with a permanent r/r, no Number 8 and a complete lack of fight, crawling it's way into the play-off's where we will be subjected to being turned over by Poole / Swindon / Birmingham in the semi and no doubt have to pay more entrance fees and programme charges for the privilege. If Parry International is paying out on success then DP must be quids in! The 'Affordable' Wolves are letting the fans down both on and off the track.
  23. It can be done - King's Lynn named Lewis Kerr as a #8 when Wolves were ther on 12 June. Perhaps a second half is needed where the #8 could be guarranteed two rides - Oh that used to happen!!!
  24. 1) Meetings drag out due to riders having two rides on the trot. Example Eastbourne v Wolves finished at 10:10pm. Interval taken at 9:20pm. 2) No number 8 named - risk of heats without four riders. 3) Lack of variety - limited 'new' riders 4) When both teams use r/r it's a joke that we are seeing even more. At NL level it's even more of a disappointment. This is a further dilution to the ridiculous half a 'B' fixture E-Lite League. How many Mondays have Wolves not ridden?
