Wolves Vs Belle Vue Tues 7th April
Lefty replied to lino wolf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Hope the programme heat details have been proof read after the Olympique mix-ups on opening night! I would also be disappointed if it's the Coventry rain-off proggy with an insert and full priced. -
King's Lynn V Lakeside Tues 31st Sky 7.30
Lefty replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Seems to confirm that with the Elite League we are watching a £10 sport. Last night was further confirmation that Elite League speedway is a £10 spectator sport. -
Another dark day for Wolves Speedway coming up with the loss of Lewis Blackbird from the line-up at Belle Vue. So sad that an Elite League fixture is probably lost before a wheel is turned due to unacceptable reliance on the availability of a double up fast track rider. This was shown at Brandon last Friday. how many more times will this occur during the season? it's no wonder we are likely to see 30 Wolves fans travel instead of 200. It's a good job the M6 will be running smoothly!

Is Tai Woffinden riding in the Olympique? It would be good to see him perform in a Wolves race-jacket.

Does the programme price increase for a double header.? -
Bees Vs Wolves Followed By Storm Vs. Cradley 26 Sept.
Lefty replied to markyb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As a Wolves fan who has been to all the other away meetings this year I will attend this to keep my 100% record. However I do object to paying to watch Cradley and fair credit if the Spoons fans feel the same hurt to their pride well done CVS (not). Next thing they will be telling me the Wolves End Of Season Dinner & Dance is being held closer to Cradley than Wolverhampton - oh it is. -
Coventry website says - Coventry v Wolves is Friday 26 Sept 7pm start as its a double header with Storm v Spoons. Nothing on the Wolves site (yet). This is the night before GP:11 Stockholm, so presume no Woffy or Bomber. So its another patch-up team on the way and subject to watching Spoons as well Hope the M6 is clear on the way back! I'm feeling short-changed (again). What time will the curfew be?

Banks' s Brewery shut the Pub which was close to this site They are business people! There is more profit charging £2.50 to park your car at Kirky Dump than investing in this converted hockey pitch. Time to get real

Last Wednesday's Poole vs Wolverhampton programme contained a full page colour advert for the "National Speedway Stadium". - Get your brick today for just £49.

Swindon V Wolves Thursday 4th Sept
Lefty replied to Adder's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Did a walkabout at 7:15pm. I counted 719 people, counted 8 Wolves fans and no Wolves riders! -
Swindon V Wolves Thursday 4th Sept

I was hoping Wolves could have had Tim Sugar as a Guest Team Manager to complete the farce that the Wolverhampton 2014 Elite League season has become. After all Tim has performed miracles in this roll previously. . -

What price is the proggy as it now covers two meetings? Will a spare biro be needed?, or did Swindon know the Wolves line-up many days ago? - long before the Wolves fans found out! -
Recent Wolves Away Support: - Eastbourne (24/8) - spotted 8 Wolves fans - Poole (3/9) - spotted 5 inc: TNT - Swindon (tonight) - can I count the riders as fans - because they certainly aren't Wolves riders??? Rather shabby at THe Abbey.
-
As Wolves hosted Leicester only two weeks ago, could we hope for no parade and a first heat actually starting at 7:30pm. This would allow maximum time for r/r drag outs and starting gate gardening . Bring an extra biro to cover the proggy changes..... oh and a warm coat in case the expected bumper crowd doesn't turn up.
-
Perhaps both teams could short change the fans and use rider/replacement? Then the meeting can drag on and we find out what the curfew time is at the Green!
-
You are missimg the Coventry (away) which is to be re-arranged - if the promoters can be arsed! Just hope its not a double header as Coventry seem incapable of completing them. I struggle to accept Mads as a good choice for Poole and Swindon away, but understand options are limited, so expect the cheapest option: rider replacement.
-
Surely MJJ will give priority to Coventry vs Eastbourne on Friday 12 September and give Vojens the next day a miss?
-
Leaving Wolves at 2pm. Amazingly four of us making the effort. Shame its to see four guests and a rider replacement across the two teams! Hope the Harvey's beer in "The Cricketers" and the cheesy chips at the track are in good fettle. Then it's the tractor racing.... and farewell to Eastbourne.
-
TNT, cut the flannel about the absense / illness excuses - he wasn't there last night!!! The admission price wasn't reduced and the meeting dragged on. Fans lost out (again). I had two friends who heard the news of Piotr's absence and didn't go last night. How many more are there (riders & fans) who are taking time out. Wolves are at Eastbourne this Saturday without three riders. This Elite League needs a shake up :-(

The Future Of The Elite League
Lefty replied to SarahLapworth's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Last night saw four Elite teams in action: Eastbourne v Coventry & Leicester v Lakeside. Three of the sides used r/r, so the fans don't see a full team and the meetings take longer to complete. I have friends who have had enough of this and have become 'armchair' supporters. They wanted a team of seven riders to support - not guests, r/r & fast track fillers! -
11 Oct 1975 Ht 11: Gary Peterson dies: 'Wolves vs Oxford', a race involving a 'Brummie whoe rode for Cradley'. I cried that night. 11 Aug 2014: Retro 4's - 'Wolves vs Oxford vs Birmingham vs Cradley'. Programme notes: "Tonight we take a moment to remember Gary Peterson ....unfortunatelely the economics do not allow a full scale meeting as we have done in previous seasons...." One race only for "The Gary Peterson Memorial Shield" - won by a 'kiwi' now a 'Yank'. It made me want to cry. RIP Gary P. Lefty
