  1. Normally Wolves bring a couple of 'unknowns' over for the end of season Olmpique meeting. If they are any good then Poole snap them up!
  2. Could the start time be brought forward to 7:00pm? Then it might be over by 11:00pm. Also I would have expected Leicester to be the first match as they were the original fixture.
  3. No price reduction, so the regulars will be able to wave to each other across the gaps on the terraces. Can we expect the status of the prestige event 'The Olympique' to be confirmed tonight or will it remain provisional? Sad times when a season is likely to finish by the first week of September. Although some would say the season finished earlier!!!
  4. No rider-replacement when it's a Double Header meeting would be a good place to start,
  5. Well, I only spotted three of us Wolves fans at the 'Torun Of The South' last night. We were fortunate to get a place on the back straight with a clear view of the track. Thankfully we were kept company by a guy with a Charlton Athletic badge on his coat and a Hackney proggy board who gave us the chance to talk about the good old days! The cafe food was excellent (again), then things went downhill... Think top eight is the best we can hope for now!
  6. Can we use Chris Harris to replace Freddie Lindgren now that Belle Vue has been rained off?
  7. Wolves and lakeside web sites have the fixture as either Thursday 12/8 or fri 13/8 not 22 June! Have the tracks been informed yet
  8. No PK at Poolle tonight, he's unwell (see Wolves web site). So if he is also r/r for Smederna then what is the furthest distance apart that r/r has been used for the the same rider on the same night??? Couldn't Rory Schlein take both the guest bookings!!!
  9. At Lakeside last Friday Wolves fans watched Doyle & Schlein as the opposition heat leaders..... And tonight we have ..... Same again!! What a sorry state the Elite League is in - now we have teams in name only.
  10. Any news on who is the centre-green announcer tonight - 'Porky' or 'Yorky'?
  11. cookie's mate was Mike Rooney - aka: roondog! Was the announcer at Auburn the last time I met him. Great guy!
  12. Hope the programme heat details have been proof read after the Olympique mix-ups on opening night! I would also be disappointed if it's the Coventry rain-off proggy with an insert and full priced.
  13. Seems to confirm that with the Elite League we are watching a £10 sport. Last night was further confirmation that Elite League speedway is a £10 spectator sport.
  14. Drink drivers are like politicians - they are only sorry when they are caught!
  15. Excellent decision - hope it catches on in all Leagues for 2015
  16. Banks' s Brewery shut the Pub which was close to this site They are business people! There is more profit charging £2.50 to park your car at Kirky Dump than investing in this converted hockey pitch. Time to get real
  17. Last Wednesday's Poole vs Wolverhampton programme contained a full page colour advert for the "National Speedway Stadium". - Get your brick today for just £49.
  18. Surely MJJ will give priority to Coventry vs Eastbourne on Friday 12 September and give Vojens the next day a miss?
  19. Last night saw four Elite teams in action: Eastbourne v Coventry & Leicester v Lakeside. Three of the sides used r/r, so the fans don't see a full team and the meetings take longer to complete. I have friends who have had enough of this and have become 'armchair' supporters. They wanted a team of seven riders to support - not guests, r/r & fast track fillers!
  20. Any idea when the World Under-21 World Team Cup dates will be available? As a Wolverhampton fan I will be going to Eastbourne on 23 August 2014 to watch the Wolves ride without Piotr Pwlicki & Jacob Thorssell due to this years final at Slangurup. Not even sure if 'Lydia' will be there at #1 either? Keep the nails going into the Elite League coffin! There are far too many GP's, SWC's, Qualifiers etc that are killing league racing.
  21. Lakeside offer a reduced admission for unemployed. Fair play to them.
  22. The New Zealander Dave Gifford was well known as '62' when he joined Wolves. This was his SoCal number when he rode in California. Billy & Greg will be remembered as 'spoons; so I hope objects as well as shapes and numbers can be used.... After all - Dave Jessup was known as "One Line" PS: Mike Bast is 'The Professor' and not not Hans Nielsen.......
  23. Can we look forward to a reduction in Elite League admission prices on the strength of this announcement?
  24. So, am I to assume my 'BL team' will comprise a 1-5 of one or two Elite League riders, three or four double uppers. This will be topped up by NL riders at six and seven? Looks like £10 Adult speedway admission price has arrived!
  25. Both teams using r/r. Sad times indeed. I thought this was a Training League???
