  1. In the 60''s the second half final often provided the most passing and the home number one passed two riders with a swoop around the last bend to win at the chequered flag. Everyone was entertained, I went home happy and couldn't wait for next week.... ... when I got older I was told the money was shared equally in the last race and the riders agreed who would pass who. It's when a Promoter promoted entertainment. A big thank you to Bill Bridgett and Mike Parker for my formative years!!!
  2. I'm still undecided if it will be an announcement of a new "five year plan" or a change of league name? It wouldn't be Speedway if the rumours didn't preceed the Papal smoke from the BSPA chimney!
  3. Similarly the supermarket bags of Roysters crisps have gone down from 25g to 21g, with the price staying the same! So I'm now trying Seabrook's. Any more Speedway parallels out there?
  4. Terrace Humour: "If the TV cameras had been here, they would have carried on" "Then we would've lost; like against Swindon and we would be out of the Cup!"
  5. Didn't hear any announcement other than re-admission tickets valid next season. With the Spoons running "The Golden 'Ommer" tomorrow week it leaves no available dates.
  6. Peterborough have now tweeted a better line-up... 1/ Charles Wright 2. R/R for Jason Garrity3. Hans Andersen 4. Richard Lawson5. Scott Nicholls 6. Kyle Newman7. Ulrich Østergaard
  7. Bring spare biro''s today folks. Rumours / Jungle drums suggest P'boro have Richard Lawson and Kyle Newman in for Wright & Ostergaard..... and now no Tungate, Proctor (shoulder injury),... and Garrity deciding not to travel. In comes Tom Perry and old friend r/r . Think Poole might have the right idea.
  8. Lets just have one meeting a year, run over 20 heats and call it a World Final.
  9. Do we get to see the British Champion riding for Peterborough tomorrow?
  10. Looks like Poole are the Man Utd of speedway after all? Both going downwards. Seriously though can a Wednesday PL race night be negotiated? It might help King''s Lynn as well.
  11. I like to support a team that I can fully associate with as Wolves. So no problems with Jacob Thorssell & Luke Becker. My issue is that the other five also rode for Edinburgh, Leicester, Sheffield, Somerset & Somerset!!! I appreciate / reluctantly accept that this is unlikely to be solved in the near future. So at least keep the same seven. Just don't put them out on a wet track
  12. How about having the PSC it's a Knock Out and swap the remaining qualifiers in a home & away.... So. Wolves vs. Poole & P'borough vs. K. Lynn. Better crowds all round
  13. Your judgment was correct! The fabulous reception / homecoming for Wolves riders is now cancelled. Speedway bingo now sees this Sunday's meeting (s) cancelled / moved back a week... and the prestigious Olympique cancelled / moved back five months. What dates can we expect to see on the respective programme covers???
  14. From Wolves end. Drizzle from Strensham, windscreen wipers needed for 10 mins at Birdlip. Now bone dry in Cricklade.... well on the outside..... throat getting lubricated
  15. As a travelling Wolves fan I think it would be best if Swindon rode at home to Ipswich in the 1st leg of the final tonight. We could then drive to Cricklade, have a few beers, turn around and head home.
  16. If it doesn't then consideration must be given to running this semi after the final has been completed.
  17. If successful against Swindon are we really going to see home fixtures on Sunday and Monday coming? What's the risk of poor track recovery after the Sunday double header? Thoughts???
  18. Nope.... that clashes with Wolves vs. P'Borough, also in the PSC. The crowds will go there to see who guests for Wright and who ever else is doubling up etc.
  19. Could Ipswich stage a home leg of the final this Saturday 12 Oct? This would allow Wolves to have 2nd leg on Mon 14th or Swindon to use Thur 17 Oct??
  20. Would the winners of this tie insist on having the 2nd leg of the final at their home track? Or does BT's schedule call the tune?
  21. Hang on ..... Sam Masters is currently Wolves #1 ... and is likely to get a Premiership winners medal... So it's true... there's a Scottish League & an English League after Brexit on Oct 31st. Is that what backstop means???
  22. I knew getting the back straight bogs listed status would come good.
