British Final 2022

What time is the plume of white smoke expected? -
Think what we could do if we had ' three ' team managers?

Do You Think Speedway might do in London in Future??.

Crayford??? -
Would he have made a solid no. 2?

Set fire to all the spare programme's at the end of this meeting and put them in an urn. It can then be kept as a memorial to the passing of Team Speedway in the UK. I was hoping we could have celebrated 100 years of team speedway soon, but it's not to be. The GI vultures are hovering lower tonight.

Aw gawd... does that mean the other riders will be going down on 'bended knee' at the start of every meeting parade to show "is innocent" solidarity?

From an engine viewpoint... Have a look at:- https://cybermotorcycle.com/archives/speedwaybikes/cole.htm [Need help getting this url to work] Howard senior, the Kids father, I'm thinking was also known as George. It's trying to remember 50 years back that's fuzzy. His wife ran the ladies hairdressers on the Bilston Rd at Monmore Green and he had the workshops behind that shop. It was a well known lodgings and stopping off point for young Aussies fresh to the UK. He was a fountain of knowledge and skills to keep mine and other local youngsters JAP bikes in one piece!!! I used to discuss the Cole engine parts with him and had a laugh once when I spotted the one way filters on the crankcase oil drain as they were aerospace hydraulic pump parts from the company I did my apprenticeship with, Integral @ Wolverhampton. He was a good 'Un for always having heated Castrol R fumes on the go in the workshop.

Leicester vs Berwick 24 July. 6.00p.m.

Wow.. didn't realise Leicester used to ride at Chalkbird Road !!! -
Sadly I think #8''s are already in the #6 berths. 12 double uppers, 1 R/R & Luke Becker is a poor reflection on a so called top division.

Looks like Panthers are trialing next year's 'Five Year Plan' of having at least two riders declared as 'FS' heat leaders...... F-ading S-tars !!!
-
Probably.... but it's okay as NKI stands for:- Now Kyle In

Fair play it certainly got the crowd going. In history for this action Bill Bridgett as Wolves Promoter would have paid Andy Smith £50 for his actions and invited him to the next Open Meeting at Monmore. It was called Speedway Promoting back then!

Nah..... " Vegemite"

Reminds me of Terry Wogan''s CLOC! The Centre Lane Owners Club. So, stay safe, don't drift into the fast lane. In Speedway terms: 1) Make sure the team wins at home - that keeps the home fans off your back. 2) lower your average - guarantee of doubling up. 3) low average = more guest bookings.... where you entertain your possible future teams. 4) if you win your first three races... then throw an EF... it gets the average down! Simples!

As its Chris Harris & Scott Nicholls as a pairing would it be best if they rode as Coventry Bees?
-
I'm thinking I saw Etienne Olivier appear at Coatbridge when Wolves rode there.... was it as Hugh Smith?
-
Gosh... the whole integrity of the Prem-Pairs is at risk (again!). Could Scott be used as an Oxford rider guesting for Palm Toft? That would be okay wouldn't it? In modern ideology a Cheetah is similar to a Panther!!!
-
Because they have a team to support that is theirs and they can identify with it. We have 'licorice allsort' teams of double uppers, guests, rider reps etc that have NO team identity whatsoever. Sad times.

Haven't done a British Final for years. Do they still have the nerve to put the admission price up and stuff two quid on the proggy for four extra pages?
