Very surprised to read this. Over the years, travelling from Wolves, I cosidered King's Lynn League matches always started promptly at some time between 7:55pm - 8:15pm. It was just the Programme showing 7:30pm that was incorrect. π

I don't, but the thought of it being "Friday At Eight" would be a great reminder of how Promoters could Promote Speedway in my formative years. RIP: Len

In the early 70's I recall 'spannerIng' for my chum at a Friday mtg of Hackney vs Wolves, promoter Len Silver and then a few Fridays later getting to Sunderland vs Bradford, for further 'spannering' where Nel Revlis was the promoter! Len perfected time-travel well before Quantum Leap! RIP to a legend.
