I wonder if someone is able to help please. A group of 6 of us are travelling to Gorzow for the GP, flying into Szczecin-Goleniow airport on the morning of 23rd. We had a minibus taxi booked using Air Mundo, but today they have cancelled without explanation. Can anyone recommend a taxi firm that they have used and trust to get us to Gorzow?

Just like steve69, we also had a great time in Poland over the weekend, taking in Leszno v Lublin Friday night and Wroclaw v Grudziadz on Sunday. We didn't make the long trek to Torun on Saturday, but we did watch it in an Irish bar in Wroclaw. I've been to quite a few GP's and went to last year's SON but nothing compares to the atmosphere at Polish league racing. Racing-wise both meetings were very good, some bad crashes at Wroclaw but happily Buczkowski, Fricke and Milik all walked away. The set up is so professional, all the mechanics and riders in matching teamwear, and even though these guys are top stars they still come out after the meeting for photos and autographs keeping the kids and not so young kids happy. All in all a great weekend and looking forward to the next one.

I've booked for 7 of us already assuming it was Wroclaw on the Friday and Czestochowa on the Sunday. I now have a headache!

Just a quick update from Nev................ Hello again all. The increased internet band width has been installed and is up and running now. Those logging on will see on the Radio Fremantle Homepage the dates and times for the title. Just below the times etc there is a listen live via Sport fm 91.3 This has been installed especially for the title and very easy to see. DO NOT SELECT LISTEN LIVE FOR RADIO FREMANTLE. The archive for Radio Fremantle will be accessible for the usual seven days. Could you put this out for widest distribution. I don’t think people will select the wrong Listen Live as it is in plain view, however I’d rather be safe than sorry. Perhaps you could go and have a quick look yourself. Cheers Nev

Courtesy of The Mildura Independent newspaper; McGowan crashes hard - Holder wins easily Thursday, 03 January 2008 Mildura Speedway rider Travis McGowan was rushed to hospital for X-rays and treatment after a spectacular crash in the B Final of the second round of the Australian Speedway Solo Championships at Gilman racing in Adelaide Wednesday night. McGowan, who started from gate three in the B final went wide on the second bend and found himself heading quickly towards the outside fence. At the last second McGowan attempted to jump off the back of the bike but it collided with the fence and swung him around as he hit the outside fence backwards. McGowan collapsed on the track as there was instant silence from the large crowd in attendance and two ambulance crews raced to the accident area. The Mildura rider lay unconscious on the track surface for about four minutes before he opened his eyes and spoke to paramedics. The crowd had been silent to that time and a minute later the commentator made an announcement to say that McGowan had regained consciousness. Event organiser David Tapp went to where McGowan was lying to assess the situation and was told that McGowan had regained consciousness, was aware of the situation but indicated that his shoulder was sore. He was placed on a stretcher and while in great pain, was conveyed to the Adelaide Hospital with the ambulance leaving some 13 minutes after McGowan had hit the fence. Officials said that he had been taken to Hospital as a precautionary measure. Racing did not resume until 12.05am Eastern time with Fred Lindgren bursting to the front in the B Final to gain a break and beat Cameron Woodward, who was second and Filip Setera from the Czech Republic third. Setera had made an amazing recovery after a spill earlier in the night when he was challenging Lindgren for the lead in heat 13 and clipped the outside fence and fell. The accident happened on the last bend when he was attempting a wide pass to gain maximum points and the other three riders went by to finish. Woodward scrapped into the B Final with a gallant win in heat 18 after much to everyone's surprise Setera had re-appeared after the fall and won heat 17. In heat 19 Woodward's luck held as fellow Mildura rider Tom Hedley got passed Aaron Summers to prevent him scoring points. Summers had seven points coming to his ride and a second would have put him ahead of Woodward in the B Final and one point would have forced a count back. Batchelor got the fourth position in the final ahead of Lindgren, whom he beat in an earlier heat In the A Final Chris Holder, although defeated by Jason Doyle in heat 20, got the jump from gate one and was always a couple of bike lengths in front. Spot on Sir Lunchalot, Nev Riseley confirmed today that all rounds are going to be covered live on Radio Fremantle. There is a small problem with the communication lines at Gillman I believe, so that is not yet 100% certain for a full live feed. Listen in to Fremantle next Saturday (22nd Dec) and the times should be confirmed when the broadcasts will go ahead. They will also be available on archive. Check out the website at www.radiofremantle.com. Radio Fremantle is a small self-funded community run radio station, and should be praised for their efforts for putting on these shows enabling fans around the world (including us UK based speedway starved fans) to listen. Maybe a few UK radio shows could listen and take notes?

Try looking up Perth Motorplex, Kwinana Beach. Pinjar Park is the circuit in Wanneroo which has some top meetings coming up soon, the WA State Championships are being run over 2 days, 30 November and 1 December. Then a top class line up will contest the Ron Johnson Memorial, I think the date is 19 January. Hope this helps!

Following the huge success of the coverage of the Aussie Championship qualifier, the Let's Talk Speedway show will be running another special show to cover the final round of the series at Mt Gambier on Saturday 13th January 2007. The show will start at 5pm WA time (8am UK time) and run until 9pm WA time (12 noon UK time). You can listen via the internet by visiting www.radiofremantle.com and clicking on the listen live icon (also available on archive for 7 days). The schedule is as follows (all WA times); 5pm-5.30pm Pre-race discussion and crossing to track-side reporter 5.30pm Meeting start time 5.30pm-8.30pm Race reports, phone interviews, crossing to track-side 8.30pm-9pm Post race reports, hopefully to include track-side rider interviews The line-up of guests has yet to be confirmed, but the line-up for the qualifier included Ivan Mauger, John Berry and Neil Machin, so bettering that will be tough! Technicians will be working to ensure live streaming works OK as I know some people had trouble connecting last time due to the high numbers trying.
