Fantastic news for management, riders, and fans, that we are running in 2019. I have ALWAYS been proud to be a Comets fan, ever since going there with my dearly departed dad, way back in 1970. But I am prouder than EVER right now !! Lets hope TJ has a MUCH easier year planning fixtures etc...he has been through HELL and back this year. The A66 roadworks is a MASSIVE obstacle to those intending to go to Scunthorpe or return from Scunthorpe at the weekend ! I believe that the A66 is closed in its entirety between Penrith and Brough at the weekends. And if you add to that the fact that Junction 40 of the M6, where the A66 from Scotch Corner meets it at Penrith, is completely closed after 10pm each night, then you have big big problem in getting home from, or getting TO Scunthorpe ! It seems that the advisory diversion during the day is via M62/M61/M6/A66. But after 10pm at night, you cant access the A66 from the M6 junction 40 ! It might well be advisable to check the highways authorities for the exact situation, but these sites arent always reliable.

Hi matey I assume you are asking because WH Smith have stopped selling it from this week on ? I bought a random copy of SS there last week, and there was an article in it from the publishers, saying something about the fact that extremely high charges were being levied against them,for them to continue selling it there, so regrettably they have had to withdraw from selling SS in WH Smiths. I think the Petrol station in Seaton sells them..so you will have to jump on the big red bus to get one from there..lol. Not sure if anyone else does. ? Let me know if you find out ? Cheers

Quite a shock, when some Comets riders actually came into the Derwent Lounge tonight, well after the meeting had finished and when they have normally long gone ! Rene, Rasmus, and Nicolai, all came in for a while, to rapturous cheers and applause from the people that were there at the time !! I dont think I have EVER seen Nicolai in the bar before ? But they all seemed happy enough anyway. No sign of Ty, Kyle, or Mason though.

Update at 12.25pm......extremely unpredictable and heavy rain showers now hitting Workington. We had a LOT of rain from early evening last night, until 9am this morning. But now its heavy showers. A quick check on Met Office website right now, indicates no more rain from 2pm onwards for rest of day, with sunny spells. I suppose it all depends on how much water damage there has been to the track overnight and since yesterday, as to whether this meeting goes ahead tonight ?

Weather forecast now MUCH IMPROVED ! Nothing like as much rain fell this morning, as had been forecast ! Latest Met Office forecast at 1pm shows no more rain all afternoon (Sun is out now). BUT....an hour of VERY heavy rain between 6pm and 7pm only..then dry all night after that. Fingers Crossed !

Ben Barker was in the Derwent Lounge after the meeting last week, and he was asked directly if he was guesting FOR US in the Peterborough Meeting ? His answer was a definite YES. So what the hell is going on here ? This smacks of something underhand !
